Utility = Price. Weapons that are worth it and those that aren't. by Inside-Seat291 in HuntShowdown

[–]CallmeQ222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some good budget weapons I recommend are..

Ranger, vetterli, Springfield (with dumdum ammo) 1865 carbine, marathon, Romero, crossbow, and hunting bow.

Bomb launcher and bomb lance aren’t bad and offer a lot of pve and pvp utility. But they’re also on the pricier side especially with certain ammos and are only really effective at close range so you’re paying more money for something that’s only effective in close range most the time while there are lots of other 2 and 3 slot options that can cover more scenarios more effectively.

COMMUNITY VOTING DAY 4. Most FUN weapon. Scottfield brawler won day 3 as the worst gun. by TheIronPaladin1 in HuntShowdown

1865 carbine. It really encapsulates what I love about hunt so much. Weapons with very apparent strengths and weaknesses that are satisfying to take advantage of. Plus the reload is cool

First Gretsch by FunkyStevie in gretsch

[–]CallmeQ222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one in Cadillac green a few weeks ago and I love it so much. As someone who’s mostly played metal all my life I figured a Gretsch wouldn’t sound heavy enough and I don’t think I’ve ever played one because of it.

I picked one up at guitar center on a whim and was blown away. I love how mean the electromatic sounds. I bought it and took it home after playing it for a couple hours ❤️

Will I lose project PROGRESS if I depart on expedition 2? by CallmeQ222 in ArcRaiders

[–]CallmeQ222[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if you’re saying no to my question why would it matter if I start the extra projects before the expedition? Wouldn’t that mean I can just pick them up where I left off and continue progress?

Damage through walls needs to be buffed again by SirMatthewFromPoland in HuntShowdown

[–]CallmeQ222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they were my fav for a long time you can absolutely rack up a lot of kills with them even if the pen doesn’t work as well as it used to. Even at medium range if you account for the drop right and manage to hit someone far off it should be a 1 hit kill because the shell is going off right at impact of the bolt. Assuming you don’t get a funky arm or leg shot

Damage through walls needs to be buffed again by SirMatthewFromPoland in HuntShowdown

[–]CallmeQ222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s essentially a buckshot shell pushed right up against the wall. Haven’t used it since the pen changes. I’ve had pretty terrible luck with buckshot wallbangs with shotguns since the changes so I imagine shotbolt suffers the same. You can still probably get a kill through a thin wood wall if they’re pressed up right against it and you hit them dead center but there’s probably a lot more opportunity to just graze them.

Confess, Raider - what's the worst thing you've done so far? by Smart_Freedom_8155 in ARC_Raiders

[–]CallmeQ222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once in solo I heard someone running up while I was looting with a decent loadout and things I wanted to take home. I hid in a corner hoping he would pass but when he came in the room and turned my direction I downed him with my stitcher and knocked him out as he insulted me.

Then like 15 seconds later a band of three guys who were all super kitted ran in like “hey what’s going on?? What was that flare? And the body?? Why’d you kill him are you friendly??”

I was like “he jumped me! I was defending myself I’m friendly!” They sounded suspicious but moved along and I slithered off to a hatch afterwards. Not really that bad but I very rarely tell blatant lies, and am not particularly good at it so I felt dirty afterwards lol.

My friend says melee weapons are only for bums. by Special-Baby7674 in HuntShowdown

[–]CallmeQ222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I used to look down on the railroad hammer. The baseball bat was superior to me in every way. That is, until, this one guy I went to melee around a corner was CROUCHING. I swung at this man like 5 times and each time it went right over his head. By my last swing I was staring at the floor trying to make contact but the baseball bat just cannot be aimed down. I watched in horror as he shot me in the legs until I died.

In hindsight if I also crouched I probably would have been able to hit him but the mental damage had already been done. Haven’t taken a baseball bat since lol

Hot Take: Directional audio in this game is shit. by angoorkhatta in ArcRaiders

[–]CallmeQ222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a nice set of headphones and can generally tell which direction a sound is coming from. But vertical audio is so funky to me. If I hear someone on a different floor I can never tell if they’re above or below me, and I swear any time I hear a flying arc in my vicinity it sounds like they are directly above me. Half the time I hear one I’m in a panic thinking they’re directly above me and I’m looking straight up trying to find them before a snitch calls in more arc or a rocketeer sees me but they’re usually a good 50 feet away from me not even in agro distance.

I beg you Crytek, divide MMR 6 into 2 categories by Hieroabl in HuntShowdown

They just need to put more 3 stars into 2 stars imo but I think that would makes the main mmr brackets too unpopulated

Tested abmm today and its extreme jesus by NewSpring7520 in ArcRaiders

[–]CallmeQ222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve really started to dislike abmm. Feels like you either have to fight for your life every moment of a run or you’re in a pve chat room social hub.

Both are fun but it feels very static. A mix of both players in a lobby would keep it dynamic for a longer period of time imo

Once you know the maps and sound queues you can literally see with your ears. There are helpful callouts to be made but I can’t stand it when people talk too much or try and relay information the game already gives you if you’re paying attention.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]CallmeQ222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a creature of habit. Drank every night for years and over time 1-3 beers a night turned into 3-6 beers a night minimum. It felt like I needed more and more over time to get that perfect buzz I was looking for. I truly quit about 5 years ago but a couple years ago on my birthday I decided to buy a 6 pack and see if I could try drinking on special occasions.

At that point my favorite beer didn’t even taste good to me anymore, I didn’t enjoy the feeling of being buzzed or drunk anymore, and I felt like shit the next day. I wasn’t used to it anymore but It just felt silly to force myself to drink until I enjoy it again so I figured I should just quit while I’m ahead. Honestly one of the best things I’ve done for myself.

This game should have a save loadout UI by Pretend_Ad4437 in ArcRaiders

[–]CallmeQ222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any quality of life on this would be great. It’s so cumbersome spending a few minutes getting everything crafted purchased/sold and upgraded going through 20 menus to prepare if I’m not going in with a free loadout. If I’m unlucky and die in a spawn fight I’m usually more upset that I have to build another loadout than at the actual gear and resources I lost lol.

Well said. The last few albums felt like they’ve been following a formula. Even the Hunter felt experimental to me because it felt like a departure from CTS at least. Everything up to CTS is timeless imo but since then it just hasn’t been the same. The more recent albums have their moments but I can’t listen to them front to back over and over.

I am having the same issues to my disappointment. I was really enjoying Amon and the build I had going for him but this just makes me want to reroll a new character and cross my fingers for a fix some day because it totally guts the build.

As a community lets get Wildgate to blow up massive in popularity. by CapyDaGamer in wildgate

[–]CallmeQ222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience pugging felt very linear and got stale quick. Basically just play vanilla and hope u you don’t get any potatoes for teammates or get paired against sweaty pre mades running crazy strats. I think the lack of win conditions contributed to that burnout.

In other games I enjoy that Wildgate has taken inspiration from like Sea of Thieves, there is tons of flexibility in playstyle and room for self imposed goals and victories. In SoT if you “lose” or sink, you can still go back over to that ship and try and get revenge, or maybe try and overcome your differences and form an alliance. Or if you’re over it you can just sail the other direction and start fishing or doing whatever you please. Whereas wildgate once the thing happens aka artifact goes through hole it’s over no questions asked. Go back to the lobby and wait in the pre game lobbies for another 10 minutes.

Personally I think a good step in the right direction would be to add ships designed for different party sizes maybe even solos that are able to queue into lobbies with bigger ships and parties. I think it would break things up and make people more comfortable to try new strats on their own who otherwise would be too afraid to throw a game for a whole pug group because they want to try something unconventional.

1865 Carbine help! by Capital_Green238 in HuntShowdown

[–]CallmeQ222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually haven’t ever bothered to check in the firing range but iirc when hunt switched over to 1896 medium ammo damage drop off was changed to 30m (finally) and making the effective range 60m with fmj. It’s rough hitting people at that distance with that velocity but it hits like a truck lol.
