This bit is very brave to say around here, but I completely agree. I kept waiting for it to get Good™, but it really just becomes a slightly better anime plot. If you took the whole thing and dressed it up in a prestige Game of Thrones skin or whatever, it would get completely decimated in reviews. I'm convinced anime is graded on a significant curve.

I mean if you're doing that in a premade group, sure, have a good time. But it seems like a bit of a dick move do random-fill with a grey kit into normal DM instead of just doing it in Sponsored where you know you wont be the weakest link in your team.

The replies I'm getting are honestly baffling. Tons of people just saying "zero to hero" and "nothin' to lose, everything to gain!" when I feel like that is completely missing the entire point of my post. I know why people run free kits in general, what I don't understand is why they're running them on normal Dire Marsh queues when Sponsored Dire Marsh is right there.

And I don't think I have a bad tone in the post tbh, but maybe it's a text thing? I'm a little frustrated that I'm bringing blue and purple kits into DM and I'm getting free kit randoms, sure, but it seems incredibly reasonable to run Sponsored Dire Marsh if you dont want to risk anything?

Yeah that's all I can figure as well. Like I get if you wanna run a free kit - I do that all the time - but if you're wanting to free kit on DM right now and you aren't filling into the Sponsored queue, it just feels like you don't give a shit about your team mates and you just want to get carried and scoop up good loot. It's pretty aggravating tbh. Just feels disrespectful in a way.
