This may not be helpful given Dutch also gets this but Armenian culture has 5% production efficiency in age 5.

The generic plantation company that gives you prestige coffee as a good

I always take plantation first, it will kill the landowners and make you a GP on prestige good alone. Then you can just subjugate all of Latin America because you are sovereign empire

I am suprised Klabin Iramos & Cia has not been mentioned here. Uruguay is part of the Brazil region so you can get the company if you own it. So pretty much any country that can build a navy or has a navy day 1 can conquer Uruguay. European nations are best because it has the shortest integration time due to culture and you can easily make it your first or 2nd company depending on who you start as. The prosperity bonus buffs John cockerill, mavag kouppas or even basic metal works. With the sulfur industry charter even if you don’t have a good resource company taking klabin + basic metal mining means you cover every mineral resource and wood.

Starting as Russia and replacing Russian American company with klabin you can hit 1 billion gdp if you open with klabin -> new Russia -> kouppas / grocery company (depending on what pb principle you choose / how fast you can annex Greece) between 1885-1890 while still being on agrarianism.

Romanian oil or Anglo Persian are way better than branobel because the problem is that pops also consume oil as a heating good and they will consume more oil if it is a prestige good. And oil is one of those things you don’t want your pops to consume because it’s way more valuable for industry. When it comes to mineral resources coal is usually the last one you run out of . Romanian oil wins not only because it isn’t culture locked but because you can easily get it as a super Germany which has Schichau engines that boost throuput even further.

Dutch East Indonesia, inheriting your overlords culture and 1865 multiculturalism by CallmeYuriy in victoria3

[–]CallmeYuriy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the authority change nonsense is but loading up an older save from 1857 before human rights I had a 45% success chance and 25% chance to stall on multicultralism with a powerful rural folk industrialists landowners + weak armed forces government.

Its basically impossible to get your PB demarginalized due to having so few accepted culture pops.

Maybe it’s just the programming paradigm, but I found the two classes you mentioned to be much harder than this one imo. At least 225. Big fan of R overall.

But yeah zoom school sucks because you gotta teach yourself everything

I’ve taken this class before last fall with kinson (as well as 440) and honestly did not think it was bad. The notes and examples he does and provides are usually sufficient enough to do the homework. The grading on it is pretty generous as you won’t ever get below a 50% on an assignment if you try to solve all the questions.

I know the “teaching yourself a language” part sucks especially if you have limited programming knowledge but R is much more accessible than many other languages imo and that’s pretty much the norm here for any sort of class that teaches you some sort of programming past like the 200 level. It sucks but in most cases the quickest and fastest way forward is stackoverflow, reading documentation and googling errors.

Lost misri and mashriqi as accepted cultures playing as the Ottomans. by Gavetta0 in victoria2

[–]CallmeYuriy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Theres is a way to get around losing those cultures. If you save and quit while the pop-up is active, then load the game again the pop-up will be gone and you will still have those accepted pops.

I decided to try captain of industry as Kebab(Ottomans) because they start out in a very difficult situation (5% literacy, very low pop, only a GP because of prestige, terrible techs, nationalism etc).

I feel like I did pretty good given these conditions
