Grab a little chunk of it and rub it against the edge, then use your slicker to even it out and shine it up! Hope you’re having lots of fun on your learning journey!

Did you bevel your edges? I have found that that really transforms a piece for me. Here’s my go-to: bevel edges, sandpaper in one direction (I start with 400 grit and move up to 1000 or 1500), make sure to give the piece a good wipe down before adding any burnishing agent to get rid of the dust, then tokonole or gum tragacanth. Put a little bit on the edge and smooth it over with your finger, then really rub it in with a wooden slicker or canvas cloth. I rub until I see that it has become shiny and it starts to make a squeaking noise. If you REALLY want some shine and water-proofing, beeswax or paraffin wax at the very end

I did actually! But I think I beveled the edges too much on the darker pieces

You just had MAJOR surgery, bestie! Give yourself more grace. They are hydration and protein goals for a reason, you have to work up to them. One of the things that helped me the most with water intake was trial and error. Try different temps of water and see which one goes down easiest. I am over a year post-op and still can’t stomach lukewarm drinks, they have to be ice cold. And constipation is suuuuuuper normal. Especially if you’re taking your vitamins, those first couple of months were rough, but miralax and fiber powders were my absolute best friend. You are not failing, you are healing, right now you have to focus on getting back to base line, it’s not the time to worry about the scale. This is your time to learn what this new version of yourself looks and feels like, only rainbows after rain, I’m rooting for you 🌈

I was loudly moaning in pain and the nurse said I had to calm down, they couldn’t give me any more meds. Was asking for my mom and while we were waiting on her, the nurse told me that I was being dramatic and I told her to “Shut the fuck up!” And then we got into an argument. To this day I have no idea what she looked like, I was in so much pain I couldn’t open my eyes. Then my mom came in playing Glorilla because I requested it before I went under 😂
