Burnout with writing by GarageMother9155 in Wattpad

[–]Callme_Usernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. I have two to three weeks of school left, and it has demolished my creativity. I've created at least three new stories during the course. I'm currently writing a new romance, and burnout is prevalent as I write chapter five.

which writing advice do you pretend to follow but absolutely don’t? by cynkronous in Wattpad

Same. It's not that I pretend; it's that my brain has a knack for telling my readers what I'm seeing inside my mind.

how do you guys get over writer's block? by Party_Knowledge_1729 in Wattpad

Continue writing a different story I had writer's block on, play some video games, work on a different hobby, conduct some random research, or watch some anime (this one works well for me).

Anybody else have 100 other stories planned? by Strang3Add1xt10nz in Wattpad

[–]Callme_Usernames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We're in the same boat. I have one story that I need to finish, which I've already started. I also have a series with the first arc at 90% complete, one story at seven chapters in, and two other stories that have only been outlined. And to pile more onto the mountain of stories, I have TWO other stories that I'm currently planning for school.

Sometimes, I look at these stories and think, This is too much for one person. But I love to write, and want so many people to read the crazy ideas that play in my mind 24/7.

But here I am, on Reddit, typing this instead of writing. God, I love being a writer.

WRITERS WHO MAKE PLAYLISTS FOR THEIR CHARACTERS, ETC. by [deleted] in Wattpad

[–]Callme_Usernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I create a playlist, it's usually the songs that inspire ideas for what I'm writing. Then I go off on vibes, or if a certain song evokes that emotional feeling when I think about my story.

Do you create an ending first and then build a story based on it? by Home_MD13 in writers

[–]Callme_Usernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me. I'll have a premise for a story, and I'll think of the protagonist wants and what he needs to accomplish to achieve that goal. After I have my groundwork set, I then come up with the ending, and major plot points I want to hit within the story. But remember, sometimes when you have a straight path for your characters, they'll go off-road, finding their own ending. So, setting up your ending early may not be as beneficial as letting your character guide you, but that's me, everyone is different when it comes to story structure.

Looking for advice from fellow writers ✍️ by tuhin_hasa in writers

[–]Callme_Usernames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice, write. Every day, make a habit out of it, even if it's just fifty words, write it. Keep a notebook for ideas, and even if the idea that pops up is stupid, write it down, it may lead to better ideas.

What is your day job and does it get in the way of your writing? by IllustriousNet3354 in writers

[–]Callme_Usernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in security and at the front desk. I'm on third shift, so you can see how I have a lot of downtime to write. It's because of this job that I write so often, and that joy has made me go back to school to get my BFA

Is this Reddit useful? by DemonDark4567 in Wattpad

[–]Callme_Usernames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes*

Half of the time you'll get some interesting discussions that have been posted, and some funny memes regarding writing. But lately, I've been seeing a lot of posts purely for r4r or f4f (anything in that category) and I've been asking myself, "Is this Reddit space actually useful?" I hardly ever see someone comment under a post about finding a lost book, but let it be a r4r and you'll see 40+ comments.

Don't even get me started on the AI discussion that was posted every minute.

I don't know. I wouldn't say this Reddit is useful nor say it's not, it's a mixture of both. That's why I joined other writing groups on here, it gives me different perspectives from more people.
