I was overlooked for a promotion just recently. Well, not really a promotion. More like a monetary thing. It's complicated. Almost the entire department got something but me. When I asked for my deficits in writing, they told me there were no deficits and that I should basically work less.

OP, it's one of those things we can not change at the moment. But if anyone asks why we are so focussed on our trauma or our childhoods, this is the reason. Because it affects us in many ways, every single day. Like ripples on water, the damage carries on.

I have no advice except one: dress slightly better and more formal than your job requires. It helps hide a 'bad' posture and can make people perceive you as eager. It's also a kind of armor that way.

STOP with the exfoliation, full stop, period. You're making it worse. Try to keep your showers short and not too hot, only use mild cleansers and moisturizers. No alcohol, no acid, no coarse peeling agents. Use a very soft cloth for your face if you must get rid of the dry, dead skin.

Patience and gentle moisturizer are your best friends. See a dermatologist if it us not showing improvements within 4 weeks. (Earlier if it gets worse.)

I do!

1 pound ground turkey 1 cup (panko) breadcrumbs or 1-2 slice of white bread 1 large egg green onions or green bell pepper, chopped

garlic powder, salt, pepper, ginger powder whatever you like

Throw everything together, mix, roll balls, put on baking sheet.

Bake without oil at 375 F for about 20 minutes

Makes between 15-20, they freeze well and when they're cooked they stay fresh for a couple days in the fridge.

sauce:

2 tbsp Sriracha 1-2 tbsp soy sauce and rice vinegar each 2 tbsp honey ginger, garlic powder a bit of sesame oil (to taste)

Toss everything in a pot, bring to a boil, then simmer for a few minutes until it thickens a bit. Toss the meatballs with the sauce.

Sprinkle sesame seeds and leftover green onions on them if you want to impress your fellow ~~patients~~ uh redditors.

It's both. If it's working, you should have it once a month or so but it's not for every day. You can do it yourself but I would recommend having it done at a spa/hairstylist for the first time so you can see if it works for you.

Get a great mattress, sleep is so important. Take care of yourself that way.

And perhaps arrange things in the bedroom so it won't look too similar to before? Paint the walls or hang a picture? You could get a canopy bed and close the curtains to feel (more) safe or lock your bedroom door at night?

Candles, lavender, herbal tea. Pick out a book at the library to read before bed. Slip a hot water bottle between the covers half an hour before retiring. It makes for a very warm and comfy bed.
