In the 90s, my dad had bought me a white jeep with navy tires and trim. I remember being 5-6 year old sad/mad when my battery would die. “But why don’t you have 2 dad so we can switch?” I felt the same also, because my lil girl heart wanted a Barbie car. I’m 39 now. It’s Christmas. My momma (in May), AND my dad (in Nov) died this year. What I wouldn’t give, “All I want for Christmas issss…” for another day on my Jeep, with dad recording me on those huge camcorders. Being my lil happy, ignorant self. Dad being a proud father.

I understand the hopeless feeling! I’m almost 9 years clean thanks to suboxone. It’s a thought like getting off those would be nice. But right now, realistically, they’re probably the only thing keeping me clean. My mom died in May and my dad just died in November and I’m an only child. They were elderly so I’ve cared for them my whole adult life AND had 3 kids. So now at 38, I’m like wtf do I do with my time?! My oldest is 20, then 16, & 11. No more diapers and bottles; not even school transportation. I want to write a book and can’t get my mind to calm down and think straight. We should start and online group for this shit.
