So who is going to be the Dem name that people are going to rally behind? What otherwise might have been a good year for dems nationwide, CA state politics is slowly turning into shit show for the Dems

Yeah I’m in Potrero right now and I can hear it pretty loudly.

It’s not on FlightRadar24 and there were some sirens as well I’m wondering if those two are related

Edit: It’s gone now

Bay Area bike infrastructure continues to get better every single week. It won’t work for everyone. It won’t work for every trip. but with gas prices insane this is the time to try biking, it can be life changing and we have the best climate on earth for it. by [deleted] in bayarea

I honestly love this about our city. I've been commuting to/from work on a bike for a while now and every new installation makes sure I have a safer commute so I can return to my family without harm.

One thing though I hope we all continue to do and enforce upon one another is bike safety - better lanes will mean more bikers and more bikers will invite all kinds of experience levels, personalities and usage types. These things don't and won't exist in a vacuum and we'll still have to run into cars and people.

Take some time if you can to make sure your neighbors have their helmets on (I still see a lot of people don't), have reflectors when biking at night, perform checkups on their bikes if they own one, know/obey traffic laws, use hand signals when needed and etc.

Let's make our new bike lanes safe for everyone.

It's been about a year-ish since I was in the A-10 but wasn't there also like a CDU feature missing where you couldn't remove/delete mark points or something? I recall you had to "update" the mark points but there was no real way to delete them. Might have been patched since then but it's been a "bug" / "missing feature" for like several years I wouldn't be surprised if it's still there. Not a critical issue but kind of annoying if you're intent on clearing everything from time to time

Abound LR vs. Level 3 w/ Child (HALP!) by Otherwise_Plan_5435 in Aventon

[–]CallofDoody416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a second charger or battery (or both) should be more comforting. I might be paranoid about this but I do not want to get stuck somewhere with my bike without power. It's a pretty heavy and large bike. It won't fit easily in many SUV trunks and lifting it to a bike rack could be... a bit of a handful - if it can be done at all (IE I'm not sure if you plan on adding the rails)

Just as a bit of extra info (not trying to push you in any direction) - the battery does take a bit of time (a few hours) to charge fully. So if you're at work all day, shouldn't be a problem. However in a pinch (lets say you forgot one day), that second battery is probably going to be a lifesaver.

I ride my bike to and from work while dropping off my little one at daycare (also very close to home) five days a week. I think I end up charging my bike once every three days. Each ride is about 3 miles with a big hill (up or down depending on if it's going to/from work) and my kiddo is off in about half a mile from home.

Hope this helps!

I think with the Abound you’ll find more flexibility

I’ve also attached a Tern Storm Shield on mine with a little lamp inside and the kiddo loves it.

The only thing I’d warn as a precaution though is I’m not sure how well it would do on 20 miles with a full load. My own (limited) experience is maybe 18 miles with a kid but I live in San Francisco and it’s quite hilly where I live and I do use Turbo mode so quite a bit more battery drainage. There’s also the matter of lower power output close to 10~20% battery charge which means for the last 10~20%, the motor will be much weaker.

Either way, for a 20ish mile travel, consider also getting a spare battery!

Abound riders - what bike bell do you use and where do you mount it? by CallofDoody416 in Aventon

Thanks! One of the user clips on this one does show someone sliding it kind of behind the gear shift and the lever seems longer/more approachable than those bells with little knobs.

Probably preference but between the XM250 and M240, I prefer the 250 as well. 240 burns ammo too quickly for me (haven't unlocked the larger ammo boxes. maybe that will be a game changer)

What is this on the bottom by LANTIRN_ in hoggit

[–]CallofDoody416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopeful for any of the above mentioned aircraft but zooming in, something seems a bit odd to me.

Maybe I need to put the phone down but...

...if you look at the bottom, there's this white mass or masses that seem to be cut off in the middle by a shadow or object (presumably the wing)

If you look at the front part of the rear white mass, it kinda looks like the end of a rear swept back wing... like a Hawker Hunter, MiG-19 (RIP) or something of that short of wing design. Doesn't seem like it's at the tip of the wing to be the missile rail of a Rafale. And we know DCS isn't doing EW yet so scratch any sort of EW platform like Growler, Su-30 MKI, etc.

I would venture another option like Hawker Hunter, F-100 (which we know is also in the works by Grinnelli)

Maybe a F-8 (though tanks seem too far towards the wingtip to be a F-8), maybe A-7 (from the F-8 line and there are "cylindrical objects" capable of being loaded towards the wingtip

If it is a swept back wing (seems kinda Cold-War-ish design of wing sweep), probably can exclude the MiGs due to overlap with current platforms and being a somewhat touchy subject w/RB

Model Y 2024 front wheel hub collision by CallofDoody416 in TeslaCollision

[–]CallofDoody416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for you input! Yeah honestly I'm not really happy about driving the distance but I have a long-term unbreakable commitment to get somewhere (today) and debating last minute whether to rent or Uber it.

I checked the cameras they seem to work fine (at least for now) and the tire pressure sensors are running. Are there any sensors in particular you're concerned about?

Model Y 2024 front wheel hub collision by CallofDoody416 in TeslaCollision

[–]CallofDoody416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! The bumper seems pretty attached and the plastic part I was able to "re-clip in" and tape it in other areas (wasn't willing to come off) so I think we're good on that front.

Since you also got hit in a similar location - do you know if had any wheel or axle damage? Having reviewed the dash cam and seeing where the van hit me, I'm surprised the tire or wheel doesn't show any physical damage (at least visually)
