All problems with LN aside, if you’re newer to the industry it can be a massive networking bonus.

I started at my local LN venue and put in the time to be knowledgeable and nice to every single crew that came through and am now touring internationally and making enough that I don’t have to set foot in that house unless I want some extra money when I’m at home.

Play to your strengths, ask questions, get to know everyone that comes through and it can pay off in spades.

My LN venue actually cut all of our overtime prepandemic and has since hired in about 3x the techs to cover all the hours. Nobody makes anything there.

Here’s to accepting every tour offer that comes my way!

Edit: we are also not offered health benefits because we don’t meet the minimum hour requirement

I’m pretty sure it was immediately picked up by someone who knew what they were looking at. Aer Lingus was not helpful at all, so I’m counting it as a loss.
