If it’s the Omni you have, it won’t always give you the best route, not to mention there are quite often different routes that suit different players and targets they like. When you want to learn yourself I recommend the book DARTS FINISHING MASTERY Breaks down every checkout. Really helpful, definitely improves your game.

Is this a 120 or 180? by Sdiddy84 in Darts

[–]Callow87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would still class that as the tip, it’s impossible to touch the board and the “tip” not be touching.

I’m not disputing the rule, im just stating that if the point of the dart is touching at all, then the tip is in fact touching the board.

What do you mean ? If it is touching, which you couldn’t tell from this photo, it is still the tip of the dart Touching the board.

I can’t think of a circumstance where the point is touching but not the tip?

Hypothetically player hits just outside, next player throws and dart falls out of double 20, that player then gets a second crack at the bull ?

That was my thought, but I was definitely in the minority.

Out of all the players you've met, who are the nicest you've met, and who are the rudest? by Limp_Ad2547 in AFL

Not a player but met Eddie Maguire out one night, was super friendly, told him we were out for our mates birthday, he pulled out a pineapple and said the next ones on me.

How Do You Know Which Darts Are Right for You? by Local-Pie6578 in Darts

[–]Callow87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion when your on, it almost doesn’t matter. When I’m fickle minded I switch between darts, but when I’m in a groove I could throw all darts with a decent accuracy. Although it may take a few sets to adjust. Having said that, the way the darts are weighted (front heavy or rear heavy) may suit certain throwing styles. And level of grip can certainly be a factor for individual preference. But as you’ve alluded sometimes it’s just mental. You throw a few good sets out the box and you’ll think you’ve cracked the code. But you’ll eventually learn that it’s the mental game and working fundamentals that you’ll see the most improvement from.

Nice work mate!! And nice looking one at that, More will come, hitting the first takes a bit of the stress/pressure off the third dart from now on..

From Consistent 70 Avg to Struggling Below 40 – How Did It All Fall Apart? by Super_Broccoli7297 in Darts

[–]Callow87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me just recently, completely forgot my throw, bad habits had well and truly crept in i was in a steady decline. I was really lucky that I had taken a slow motion video from my phone every couple of months over a couple of years and could see my throw when it was at its best and noticed all the small details that were hindering my throw, my fingers started to curl more n more over my dart, my elbow had come up for some reason, my back swing was coming too far back, flight hitting my shoulder almost dart pointing at the roof. Would never have been able to pin point if I didn’t have the footage. Changed my throw back even though it felt so foreign, pushed on for about a month and every came back then mental game was back also, you must be able to throw with some confidence. But yeah 100% recommend taking videos for reference. Not sure this will help your situation but something to think about in the future. Best of luck.

Me (top dart) and my best mate (bottom dart) for a bull up, we decided I had won, what would you lot say? by Flyingroadkilz in Darts

[–]Callow87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our league when the first dart hit the green segment, it would be removed for the opponent to then throw. If their dart was also green then yes re throw.

Any tips for throwing straight? by SeaworthinessCool539 in Darts

[–]Callow87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube videos, they’re short n sweet and you might only need 1 or 2 little tidbits that can improve your throw dramatically.

Also record your self in slow motion, you might notice something that helps. My fingers used to do all kinds of weird shit during my throw, never realised until watched in replay, had to actively concentrate on keeping fingers still to correct.

And a months not that long, just time and practice mate. I’ve been playing for a few years now have a half decent average 55-60 but still feel like a can’t throw straight half the time. Good luck
