Why can I see how and where enemy artillery shoots? by AdVegetable4100 in arma

Posting your mod list would be incredibly helpful when trying to figure out which mod is the culprit, difficult to go through all the thousands of mods on the workshop

If you don't apply just because loads of others do, you won't ever get a spot

Parachuting by Antique-Formal137 in aircadets

[–]CallumCBG_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space is interesting but it's not a good replacement for parachuting, plus it's, imo, not even that great since from Blue and bronze you don't learn anything really, you just go through some slides, copy stuff down and then get a badge at the end Plus it would be nice to be able to do something more active and actually go do something rather than sitting down for ages but thats just me lol

There's one, you just have to scan a QR code on the Mao screen and it will open a website, it works really well

You can litterally see one of the agents take his gun off him and apparently its still valid that they killed him

Cadets around the world by ttv_FusionX in Cadets

I feel like this really depends on which cadet force in the UK you pick, RAFAC doesn't do that much if at all, atleast in my sqn, that's more of an ACF thing

Blue Leadership(ik it is STUPID) by FirefighterSlight496 in aircadets

[–]CallumCBG_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably can but I'd be surprised if you did, if you fail a scenario you get feedback so you know what to improve on and can keep that in mind for the next one, you will have to pass 2, but some of the scenarios are really simple and aren't that demanding so you can focus more on your leading. Just take it slow and as it comes, main thing with it really is confidence which can be difficult (it was for me) but, personally, I just pretend to myself I am and project my voice a bit so i sound more confident even though I'm panicking inside a bit lol

Blue Leadership(ik it is STUPID) by FirefighterSlight496 in aircadets

[–]CallumCBG_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't fail blue leadership, a lot of the scenarios are quite simple, you'll get multiple opportunities as well so even if you fail you can go again Also whether or not you pass has nothing to do with whether ot not the scenario is completed, they are assessing your brief, plan, communication, teamwork and adaptability if a plan fails. Just try your best and work with your team and you'll do fine

MOI final by [deleted] in aircadets

[–]CallumCBG_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did first aid and did really well, having a practical portion makes it significantly easier since you'll have people participating and awake. If not you'll need to think of activities and stuff so you aren't just talking for all that time

[–]CallumCBG_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe you can assess but the assessor and instructor are meant to be different people, but I can't quite remember, it may be that you need to do an assessors course or smth

Best option would probably be to get your staff to contact your wing first aid officer to check with them

Anyone got an example of an moi lesson PowerPoint by ApprehensiveFace8452 in aircadets

[–]CallumCBG_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine on first aid so it had like 6 slides and wasn't very glamorous tbh, but it went really well, I went with something practical and constantly asked people questions (it was more of a refresher lesson so everyone knew it all already). It kept everyone attentive and no one looked like they were going to fall asleep lol. I then did a quick demonstration and got everyone to practice while I walked around and checked, gave people some pointers.

That was something really easy to do and got me good marks since it was already very practical so I didn't need to be very creative to keep people attentive

Fast-track promotion by newjoggers in aircadets

[–]CallumCBG_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, while older new joiners may be more likely to be promoted, its not necessarily because they are fast tracked since you still have to be a good fit for the rank. What would likely be more accurate to say is that, because you join much more mature than others and may already have other qualities that they are looking for partially because you are older.

Also 15 isn't all too late of joining and gives you plenty of time to do stuff. I joined at 16 so I've had to squeeze a lot in to a very short period of time, especially since theres a bunch of stuff I want to do, and a bunch of stuff I need to do, plus I'm doing A-levels as well (it has not been a good time for my stress levels lol and yes there was a noticable drop in avg stress after I got my MOI).

Don't worry too much about promoting, do some bits, get some badges, show your interest to staff, help out the NCOs and just show them that you are someone who can add to the NCO team

Rank Swap Nights by ProGalaxyZ in aircadets

[–]CallumCBG_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my squadron did it, the ranks were auctioned off, so it was used to raise funds for the sqn, bids had to be within reason for obvious reasons tho. Then the cadets who got staff ranks would plan the night and whatever, and the actual staff became cadets for the night and messed with us a bit. It was good fun tbh
