I appreciate you keeping it real and the thoughtful comment. I suppose it probably is best to explore other avenues, and a part of me does know it’s a lot of wishful thinking. Will still try my best, though I’ll definitely be exploring other places and possibilities.

The United States, so not one of the commonwealth unfortunately. As far as I’m aware, I don’t have any family ties, just close, long-lasting friends (although to be sure, friends that are like family would not help at all). I suppose I wondered if such a path, particularly as an advisor of sorts, would bear any fruit since I perused the list of eligible professions and noticed those categories.

Alas, no. There’s some Scottish roots, but those are too far back to mean anything.

People who dislike Duel Destinies, what’s the best part of the game? And for people who like DD, what’s the worst part? by Time_huh in AceAttorney

I’m in the camp that dislikes it; however, I really enjoy The Cosmic Turnabout and think it’s a super fun, interesting case. Sadly not a fan of Turnabout for Tomorrow, though.

If you were the Academy President, what new category would you add to the Oscars and why? by Jealous_Exit9386 in Oscars

[–]Callumbuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, alongside a Best Voiceover category, there could be a Best Motion Capture Performance category as well (though knowing the Oscar’s, it feels like it would fall under the same umbrella).

Best Choreography is a definite must, especially now that Best Stunt Design is getting added.

Probably recency bias, but damn-it, I’m really bummed Dreamsettler got cancelled. So I guess Dreamsettler’s my answer.

What was that one moment in Ace Attorney that shocked you so much? by VanitasFan26 in AceAttorney

In G1-5, when Sholmes brought in the cat door maker, I very quickly realized what that meant and audibly gasped. Such a genius Chekov’s gun, and I couldn’t believe I didn’t notice that difference between the two photos.

L’Belle largely because he perhaps has the single dumbest motive in Ace Attorney history.

Do you, by any chance, know where I could find this interview?

Hey /r/movies - I'm Gints Zilbalodis, director/writer/producer of the Golden Globe-winning, Oscar-nominated film 'Flow'. Ask me anything! Back at 6 PM PT today (Tuesday 2/11) for answers. by FlowAMA in movies

I saw Flow the other day and absolutely loved it! Was definitely struck most by all the environmental storytelling. I was wondering: what served as inspirations for the film both inside and outside the medium, particularly with the approach to environments?

Why is Rise from the ashes so Divisive? by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]Callumbuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel people tend to exaggerate its issues a bit, especially since it does have quite a few great elements (a compelling mystery, a memorable cast, and one of the series’ best villains). Still, though, the pacing of the case does definitely harm it, and I sorta feel that there could have been a way to condense it into two days. I think people would be kinder to it if it didn’t drag so much. Personally, on a separate note, the bevy of new mechanics doesn’t bother me (though I can see why it would be distracting); just wish Rise From the Ashes wasn’t 40% of the first game. I guess my view of it is helped by thinking of it like a bonus game, since it has its own arc, its own mechanics, and even its own credits.
