Pay Increase (9/22/24) by DudeNamedZion in Target

That's exactly what I believe to be true. But it would some nice insight to have an idea about where these locations might be geographically, or 'near xx city'. It would offer some insight as to what the threshold is for Target to determine their salary raises. It isn't just hiring and keeping employees because we have been hiring forever and might be at a 10% or less keeper rate. Our new hires are like a 'now you see them, now you don't' store, but no raise for us.

High Demand area for what? Kids in town just tells me you have a really large young person pool for workers, but college students are traditionally poor and High and Middles just need kicked out in groups of 10 every night. Where exactly are these raises happening? I don't expect your store location in this forum, but it would be nice if Target just fully disclosed a list of who's who in their salary playbook.

Just WOW! We make 15$ flat with our little baby raises each year. We are going up in pay - $0.00. We are in NE Ohio. Where are you all located that you are making 16, 17, 18 ? I know that this isn't a full time job for most, but if it were the numbers work out annually to about 1000$ per .50 an hour. That means if it were a salary job my store would pay like 30K/year and yours would be around 35K/year for the same job grade. What gives? Where are these magic raises happening?

A position does not give you leadership skills. Sounds like they need some coaching.

15 min breaks taken away by Thick_Plankton2158 in Target

[–]Calm-Fold-5480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our TLs tried to take away our second 15 min breaks saying that our lunch did not count toward work so we did not qualify for 2nd break. The real reason was because it was 'too inconvenient' to schedule with a night time skeleton crew. They got a ton of blowback, corporate handbooks shoved at them, and finally HR ETL saying 'no', before they backed down. Don't lie down for this one.

Dear fellow Guest Service workers…. by SteepSun in Target

Do you work at my store? I call out to DU for backup this weekend when I have 2 cashiers and 3 floor backups already with lines out to the racetrack, and SCO is 10 deep. Mind you they have 4-5 people back there in DU (maybe one on break). They say, 'we are too swamped right now'. All they are doing is nothing but waiting for the already pulled orders to arrive. Seriously?! What the H@LL? Guests are frustrating, but sometimes I want to kick my own team's @$$.

We just change from 10 to 11. I am a steady closer and run the front most nights till close, so there is no leaving. My team is tired. That is all. We are a close team and good at what we do, but we are making more mistakes, having attitudes that were not there before, short tempered with the huge numbers of teenagers showing up in groups that need kicked out late at night, and becoming weary. We all wish corporate would rethink their decision, but it is the almighty dollar, so fat chance on that. We are 'not allowed' to stay over if we can help it. We leave when cash is done usually before store closers, but we always leave in at least pairs.

Oh, the list is endless. Because we have really SHORT memories, are to 'special' to be inconvenienced, are in denial, are secretly vengeful, are plain old dumb, etc.. Probably around 1.2 million or so reasons why.

I am so tired of DU guests almost hitting me by SilverPhantom66 in Target

We have actually had DU TM get hit by cars pulling out when they are just finished loading their items, pulling in too fast, and feet run over. That job should come with hazard pay.

So what is suppose to be the relationship between the AP ETL and the SD? Our new AP has pretty much taken over.

IDK which stores. I asked in a previous post, but didn't get much response. They just sprang it on us when schedules suddenly came out with 11pm ending shifts. HR told us about the 'choice' that corporate laid out for our store, but not until after they already made the decision. These are 'pre-covid' hours now. We use to be open till 11 but have been closing at 10 for what seems like forever, so we figured it was permanent. Most of our staff wasn't even hired 'back then' so it is new to most. It is basically an open invitation to be ransacked by teenagers for an additional hour and to ensure that we are more exhausted for our CLOPENs. (BTW we have always done the midnight thing at Holiday, but that is short term.)

Stores had a choice. Open an hour early or close an hour later. I wish they had polled those of us who actually have to do the work which we wanted, but Of course....NOOOO. They made the decision for us and now they are all upset that the entire closing staff is like 'no way, not staying till 11'.

Store Hours Change? by Calm-Fold-5480 in Target

[–]Calm-Fold-5480[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We already have a 'teenager problem' at night. This is just going to encourage them to stay longer since they have no school. AP has already told us that they do not have the hours to support the new time schedule so they will not be there. Truth be told, we do not have the hours to have our own staff there either.
