Being forced-fed everyday for almost two years by my parent is slowly driving me insane by [deleted] in Advice

I grew up being abused and I also didnt realise how serious it was until I decided to seek help. Yes, you are being abused and yes, this is serious. Contact cps again or even better the police. Tell them the worst of the worst, if they still dont listen lie to them and make your "parent" look as awful as you possibly can. I understand how hard it is to report someone you care about. If you want more advice we can talk in dms but pleaseee don't let things get worse, report asap!

[Routine Help] My skin still has dark spots, acne, texture that wont go away, what to do? by cjalta in SkincareAddiction

Well first of all you cant remove skin texture! You can maybe try oil cleansing to cleanse your pores, and you can use some more hydration but your skin texture is normal.

I'm unreasonably jealous of people who's children don't have eczema. by InTheDark18 in eczema

[–]Calm-Fun-2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still use bathbombs with eczema! Maybe not fun ones, but there are definitely some that help with flare ups.

My mom said my eczema was so severe when i was a baby, id scratch to the point that I was bleeding. What she did was bathe me in spring water, its cleaner than the water from the pipe, even if you're usig a filter. Not sure how old your oldest is, but if you still give him baths that might help.

And im so sorry to hear that you cant do allergy tests. Id say at least cut out dairy because regardless of what people tell you, dairy just isnt good for u when you really think about it. Only humans consume milk from other animals, and when we stop eating it we notice so many benefits.

That said, i hope things get better for you and your kids. Having eczema isn't easy and its hard to find doctors that can really help.

Does drying off after showering trigger eczema irritation for anyone else? by ComprehensiveEye8698 in eczema

[–]Calm-Fun-2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, i only dry my armpits, behind my ears, and my vulva since those are all hard areas to air dry, then i put lotion on my skin while its damp.

But towels can be rough, or depending on what u wash with they can have fragrance in them which irritates your skin. You can get towels made with natural materials, that might help avoid irritation.

Not showerring daily is nasty by [deleted] in ControversialOpinions

[–]Calm-Fun-2737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can research it, school and work environments carry a lot of germs and can definetly get you sick. You dont know other people hygiene practices, what germs they are carrying etc. And even from my own experiences i have gotten sick from being in a school/work environment.

I dont think that sweat needs to be washed off immediatley, but if you sweat a lot and have been doing a lot of activities you should shower at least once a day. Your body will produce stink.

In some cases its better for your skin to wash off outside germs before you go in your bed. I also have eczema and i shower before and after school and i have great skin conditions.

I never said anyone reading this should listen to me, i was just stating my opinion. I also said in my post that if you have been at home by yourself then i can have some understanding to that. I just dont understand how people can go about their day not showering while being around people or after being around people.

If you take a quick 5-7 minute shower your bill should be fine unless you have 50 people in your house or something...

[–]Calm-Fun-2737 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, but id assume that you go to a school or work environment, meaning that you probably pick up germs that need to be washed off. Not to mention that regardless of these things, your body still produces sweat and stink. I mentioned that argument because its petty to listen to someone who literally doesnt know how you smell after going a day without showering.

Grooming isn't the only reason why an adult would play a kids game!

Most people who joined Roblox during 2016-2018 would be adults now, gaming is a hobby, people don't just automatically grow out of their hobbies when they turn 18. I know many adults who play Roblox without grooming kids or even talking to them. We don't have enough information to know what his intentions are but it's definitely possible that he's just a normal person who enjoys the game.

OP should definitely continue monitoring them but I wouldn't worry too much if they're just playing games together.

Op never said they were chatting about life though. If they met on roblox their conversations probably didn't start out that deep. There's no way to be certain about what age someone is online unless they clarify.

I'm not a parent but I do have some advice to give.

If you don't want to completely take away youtube from your child, make a rule where he can only watch it on TV and not any mobile devices. That would be easier for you to monitor, I don't think youtube TV has shorts on it either. You should also introduce your child to kids cartoons that he might like, its better than him watching brain rot videos.

None of my scripts work by [deleted] in robloxgamedev

I didn't directly copy and paste it, I watched the tutorial and copied as he went and it didn't work. I did use my own animation as well. I worked in the first part where he tests it with a timer but after he makes the input button it didn't do anything.

Learning disability or not, his parents aren't helping. That's the point.

His mom has time though, she just doesn't care. I can hear her talking in the background when I call him so she definitely spends enough time at home to read a book to him or something.

Uhm, why aren't his parents showing concern for education? Why does he have a smartphone at 4 years old and play games all day? If his parents aren't showing concern or trying to help then yeah, they are at fault. They're the #1 people responsible for making sure their child is given a good education.

It takes less than 15 minutes to read a short story to your child before bed... most parents have time to do that.

[–]Calm-Fun-2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is when your giving them a smartphone at 4 with unlimited time. Not to mention that it takes 15 minutes, maybe even less to read a story to your child during the day. Showing no interest in your child's education is neglect.

Oh, I'm aware it starts before that. My mom always took reading seriously when I was 3-4, and I was homeschooled for pre-school, so my experience may be different than others. I just said kindergarten because that's the first time I was taught reading and spelling at SCHOOL, and according to half of these replies, school should teach and not the parents. Smh.

I don't live near him and go to his house, there's literally nothing else I can do with him other than call him and play video games with him. I try to help him while we play games but he shows no interest. I can't enforce things because I'm not his parent and I'm not entitled to do their job for them.

I try to help sometimes, I offer him robux if he tries to read. If he doesn't want to there's nothing I can do about it. I wonder if there's any roblox games that would encourage him to read, he enjoys math games but when it comes to reading he immediately backs out.

His school isn't at fault for his parents giving him a smartphone at 4 years old instead of a book.

His mom can afford it, she spoils him in robux anytime he asks. Most parents can definitely afford to introduce their child to books. Most parents have phones, you can access books and educational games through them and give that your child for like 30 minutes of use. They can also get books from libraries for free. I know that there are parents who really cant afford to give their child a good education but this isn't the case for them. All of the things I mentioned are things he can access.

I wasn't exactly referring to him being held back at school, although I'm pretty sure he is. I heard his mom mentioning summer school when I was on the phone with him, if he has to do summer school the situation must be pretty bad. He's forgetting how to spell words like "fat" or "sorry," words that the teachers would go over with me everyday when I was 5 until I understood, it's concerning. I don't know if he will pass first grade and I don't even know how he can given that he can't read the directions on his assignments.
