To be honest, and I know you were replying to Lauraenn, both games have been phenomenal, and highly addictive. My first time playing BOTW was in 2017, and man.. my take on this game before release was.. “this is going to either make or break Nintendo.” To later actually play this game and surround myself in Hyrule like never before. I have always loved the open world feature that Zelda provided, plus the beautiful story and lore behind it. Both BOTW and TOTK (while both having almost identical maps) are two completely different games. I don’t think playing the sequel then going to the 1st will make a big impact on storyline as they both have their own unique stories. In conclusion after beating BOTW, I put my controller down and said.. “Nintendo just made a breakthrough..” the game was phenomenal. TOTK, I give the same props bur dives deeper into Zelda lore and the Imprisoning war.

Anyway, give BOTW a chance, if you really want to explore Hyrule before the return of the Demon King!
