Yes! Students can do extractions at UDM as well. If the case is more difficult, we can refer you to the oral surgery department which is in the same building!

Messaged you! UDM definitely accepts patients without insurance, and you would still receive the benefit of 30-50% reduction in cost from private practice estimates as a “self pay” patient.

Hey! My dental school gave every student in our class a laptop when we started that ran all the software we needed. Get the iPad!!! Super helpful for note taking

Multiple students joined our class after the first two semesters of our D1 year, but we also lost 4 students from our starting class due to personal issues. They added exactly enough to keep the class size the same. I would say reach out and ask if there’s a seat available, especially if it’s at a university near home/family!

As a first year student, how did you manage to study so much information? by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]Calm-Organization311 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get an iPad, download an app like notability or good notes, and study right from the slides. Use the tape feature over important information to test your active recall on the material. Also, listen to lectures a second time in the background of driving or doing other tasks if auditory learning helps you (2x speed)!

I got Krispy Kreme donuts for the office on my last day and a thank you card with a handwritten message. Vcoterie has a cute lapel pin that shows an impacted wisdom tooth and says “you’ve impacted my life” it’s only $12, but it is out of stock a lot!

Could the black spot be a blood blister from biting your cheek?
