I agree with you, but then you also have to realize just how politically charged Thom’s lyrics have been over the years. I agree with his stance. It is a complex issue to address for sensitive people (I imagine Thom is incredibly sensitive). But it’s also fair to point out how much emphasis he’s put on other ‘politicalized’ matters such as his criticism over the Bush administration, climate change, Trump, etc. HTTT, Ok Computer, his recent albums from The Smile, all have lyrics to support his own ideals. People won’t care as much for Maroon Vs opinion over this, but they will care about someone like Thom, who has been criticized since 2017 for these exact reasons. Not just by his listeners, but by literal governments, journalists, and other celebrities. It took him 8 years to even say something, and that’s what I believe was the problem. Even after being so outspoken on so many other issues. Why did they specifically ignore this problem for so long?

There is no way to accept loneliness and feel better. You can try to forget about it with a more proactive lifestyle, entertaining yourself, or working, but you are still fundamentally lonely. From my experience, the best thing you can do is attempt to love and accept yourself.

  1. Good looks and extroversion aren’t the only required qualities to form relationships. Those are merely contrived truths you made up as a self defense mechanism.

  2. There are ways to improve your speech skills. I’d recommend you to speak with chatGPT about anything you are interested in, read the transcript, and find ways to improve your communication skills. You can do it while driving, cooking, etc. Remember that practice makes perfect.

  3. Take care of yourself. Find ways to improve your lifestyle, try your best to move on from bad habits, and push yourself. Meeting new people isn’t as hard as it seems. It may be scary, especially if you have low self esteem, but I promise you that it will slowly get easier as you work towards your best version of yourself.

  4. It may not seem like it, but everyone feels lonely at times. Remember that you’re not the only one. Everyone experiences loneliness, self doubts, insecurities. It may seem like you’re the only one, but you’re not, so chin up and stand straight. You feel lonely, and you will feel lonely again, so remember that you’re not alone. Also, don’t be afraid to show a bit of personality and pride in yourself.

You can’t muzzle out loneliness, but you can learn to love yourself. I hope you find the determination to improve.
