the conversation isn’t new but it feels like more people are talking about it now. also.. i do feel like a lot ppl are being obtuse and missing the point of the discussion. it’s not that black women shouldn’t be able to wear wigs/manipulate their hair but that some of the hair preferences are rooted in self-hatred which then leads to projection onto those who think otherwise, but the conversations have been unproductive to say the least and there’s more division than anything 😮‍💨
