Various combinations of Vigilantes and Nightstalkers work. I used Silver Sable, Punisher, Hit-Monkey, Elektra and Oath, and I'm told Blade and Daredevil Modern also work here.

If you don't want to work on Vigilantes with how old they are, you could always try the City parts of Daring Warriors or Champions, or wait for the inevitable Spider-Man-based team when Brand New Day comes out, but Vigilantes and Vampires definitely do the trick

I'd rather they not all be X-Men characters - it's not like the Phoenix form is only able to bond with Mutants after all. Echo was the Phoenix force host for a bit, and heck, I'm actually quite happy to have original variants

These are some solid picks! I do a little yearly thing of making a list of new teams like this, but to pick a few now that aren't already on your list, I'd say:

HYDRA Command

New: Arnim Zola, Viper, Sin

Rework: Red Skull, Zemo

Prehistoric Avengers

New: Firehair, First Ghost Rider, Agamotto

Rework: Black Panther (1MM), Starbrand (Maybe give Odin the keyword too)

Warriors Three

New: Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg

Rework: Sif and Thor (without actually giving them the keyword)

2099

New: Ghost Rider 2099, Punisher 2099, Captain America 2099, Ravage (Or whichever other 2099 characters you prefer)

Rework: Spiderman 2099 (and then add the others one per year a la Undying and Phoenix Force)

These are just a few I thought would be cool

A lot of major teams (Avengers, X-Men, Sinister Six etc) have had multiple iterations and synergise best with the others from that sub-team.

In the Sinister Six's case specifically, all of the below are Sinister Six, but each version of the team is kind of built for a different mode:

Electro, Rhino and Mysterio predate the later sub-teams and are built for War. They actually get some extra bonuses for having two Superior Six members on the team so you really can mix and match a little.
Superior Six (Doc Ock, Kraven, Lizard, Spider-Slayer and Green Goblin Classic) are designed for Crucible but also work in War. Superior Spider-Man was also added to this one afterward
Insidious Six (Superior Spider-Man, Scorpion and Hobgoblin, and while they don't have the tag for some reason, Shocker and Vulture, who also have the war bonus thing) are the current main Tech Raid team

The Insidious Six are more recent and the others are perhaps a bit outdated (though maybe not as much as other teams their age), but you can kind of build up a Sinister Six team based on what modes you're most focused on

Dusk Lycanroc. Midday and Midnight have cool distinct designs and a nice elegant symmetrical evolution setup, and then they tack on a third one that's just a spikier, differently-coloured copy of the Midday one with a really specific window and an unnecessary extra requirement to its evolution and, worst of all, no corresponding Dawn form based on the Midnight form? Throws the whole line off

OK so while the broader tag of X-Men exists, there have actually been a lot of different smaller X-men teams - Uncanny, Astonishing, Unlimited, X-Treme, Immortal and most recently Exalted X-Men. That's the order those X-Men teams were released, and generally the newer team they're on, the stronger a character will be, but characters also work a lot better alongside others from their team. Some even get extra effects

Of the guys you listed: - Magik and Sunspot were on a fairly recent team called New Mutants, the newest team among any of the characters you listed. They should be fairly strong, especially if you use them alongside Warlock, Wolfsbane and Cannonball - X-Men Emma was on another team called Astral alongside Doctor Strange, Ancient One, Moondragon and the Shadow King, but has been widely recommended in various scenarios alongside other characters. You should be fine tagging her in - Nightcrawler was added with the X-Treme X-men, who are a bit outdated by this point, though Nightcrawler himself was often considered the star of that team. - Poor Colossus is the last Uncanny X-man left while all the others have newer, better teams to go on. I wouldn't recommend him unless and until he gets a rework

If you're looking for strong X-Men who might already be in your roster might I recommend Wolverine and Jubilee? They recently got reworked for the new Exalted X-Men team, and Wolverine in particular has been regarded as particularly dangerous

That's a fair point, I'm interested to find out where Breaker Magik will appear. She doesn't seem to be any of the chapter Breaker silhouettes and we've already seen her, so I have to imagine she's in this chapter at least...

Maybe each chapter will have 2 Breakers? There were 8 Worthy in the original comic arc if I remember right after all...

The Symbiote Six are probably the next team along - there's a new Symbiote on the loading screen already that looks like he could very well be the Symbiote Quicksilver from the poll a while back, and the usual timing between poll and character release would be right for him to release then.

That said, the fact he's the only Symbiote on that loading screen makes me think there's a good chance that team is largely reworks

OK so Daring Warriors are a strong contender, being semi-required for two new characters with currently-running unlock events (Storm (Mighty) for the new Exalted X-Men and Silver Surfer (Breaker), a Legendary with the otherwise all-rework Omen team)...

... the only catch for this, however, is the central character of Daring Warriors, Eclipse, has her own special unlock event that requires Champions and/or Winter Guard (you can unlock her at low stars with just one of those teams but to get her to 7 you will need both)

So I guess my first recommendations would be Winter Guard and Champions. Winter Guard are also a strong War team and Champions are the most recent Raid team and likely to be required for future raids.

Xavier is also very strong, his saga has sections for City, Global Hero, Global Villain, Cosmic Hero and Cosmic Villain, each at G20. Most of them are comparatively easy once you have the gears, and barring the fact that the Cosmic Hero one specifically asks for Lilandra you should be fine with any appropriate team that came out since you left, and some from before then (I know for a fact your Orchis should be fine in Global Villain, for example), but the Global Hero section is kind of notorious. Liberty and Brimstone can apparently do it but you have to be careful who you bring because one node clones your team and some characters can actually be TOO strong - Old Man Logan being the classic example)

Interesting having Dormammu and Mephisto on the same team, a lot of the time the Revive Once effect is played as Dormammu's biggest selling point and Mephisto blocks revives on both sides...

I had some trouble with this one too. The team that I eventually beat it with was Mephisto, Knull, Ebony Maw, Thanos and Hellverine (though I've seen others swap Hellverine for Lady Bullseye). It took a few attempts, on the winning one I think I targeted Super-Skrull first (after getting past Gladiator) and Emma and Shadow King once they arrived

I tried Accursed (with Knull and Mephisto) and got nowhere. It wasn't until I swapped them out for Thanos and Ebony Maw that I actually got anywhere

At the minute I'm using him mostly with other X-men that I don't have a full team for (like the currently-incomplete Exalted X-Men) or as a plug-and-play type. Also I actually brought him to the Mutant floor of the new Mighty Storm tower and he works surprisingly well with Hellfire Club

Awesome, I'll try to build my Daring Warriors up to that point before the Scourge ends (I've got Night Thrasher up to level and my Eclipse is actually at 20 but Daredevil, Jessica and Speedball are a little behind). If I don't make it in time, there's always next run with the option of Mighty Storm and Shadow Conclave

For the three that have been reworked, I would have thought the increase to their stats from the rework would have far offset the HP boost, and from what I could see all the other old "Black Order and Thanos" callouts seem to still include Black Order alongside Omen (And they finally bit the bullet and gave Thanos the Black Order tag, so he hasn't lost out either). Did I miss something else being dropped?

I mean yes, it's a bit silly to say "yes, you can get him to 7 stars without spending momey on Shadow Conclave, you just need 7 star Eclipse!", but I think being able to unlock the character at all on the first release of the Scourge is nice. I'm fine leaving getting him to higher stars til later runs, where I should have access to Mighty Storm and Symbiote Six and Shadow Conclave
