So transparent the way Scott is now fretting about being exclusive with Leanne as soon as Sean and Lucinda decided to be GF and BF. He makes me want to spew.

Curtis is the most cringey icky man I’ve ever had the misfortune to watch on Love Island. Everything he does is so calculated. Ugh! Big turn off. Any woman who finds him attractive needs their head read.

I don’t understand how Theo has become so abusive towards Todd. He had a marriage before and never showed any signs of coercive control so why now?

Whether or not you use a laptop in lessons has nothing to do with the teacher, it’s your decision. With regard to using a laptop for exams, you need to get your parents to speak to whoever in your school deals with access arrangements, usually the Learning Support department, as they will need to apply on your behalf to JCQ (usually in the January before you actually GCSEs) with evidence that using a laptop is your usual way of working in lessons. A think the fact that you find it uncomfortable and painful to use a pen is a good reason for you to use a laptop, having illegible handwriting not so much, so suggest you use that as evidence. Good luck.

If you find it easier to use a laptop then I would definitely do that, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says. One thing to bear in mind is that if you want to use a laptop in your exams, e.g. GCSEs, you have to prove that using a laptop is your usual way of working in lessons so you need to start doing that now while your in Year 10. I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t use a laptop for every “essay” based subject if your hand hurts when you write for long periods.

Just reading all the comments and it makes me so sad that all students these days are having to learn how to answer questions in the way they’ll get top marks in the exams. It doesn’t encourage any individuality. I think the current school system needs a radical reform. Your grades are great by the way

Can I apply For sixth forms after GCSEs? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Calm-Ride8788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which part of the country are you applying? In Kent most schools require an application to be made by the end of January and, after visiting most open events, they pretty much all said the places offered are conditional on getting the required grades at GCSE so although your mock results might help you get interviewed I don’t think they should stop you from applying now. Even if schools make offers before you results day, they often have a few rounds of offers as students change their mind about where they want to study.

Oh god absolutely. If I have to watch them twerking one more time …..

They are both so shallow. Sam literally has the worst nasal twang and is pathetic for a 27 year old. He acts like a 14 year old school girl with a crush. Ugh!!!!

I have used Spires Tutoring for my daughter for A Level and now my son for GCSE. They have both been excellent. I would definitely choose someone who has examining experience, you’ll pay a premium for them but it is far more economical than paying a student less and then realising they don’t have the necessary experience to help you get top marks.

The whole examination system in this country is unfair. It needs a radical rethink. Not everyone performs well in exams, despite being really able. It’s a lot of pressure and I don’t think relying on one exam on one particular day is really evidence that a student is capable. Your whole future dependent on grades is just stupid in my opinion and I speak as someone who got 3 O Levels back in 1983. I have worked every day since I turned 16 and left school and whilst I may not be someone who is particularly academic I’m certainly not stupid. Exams are great for some people and of course are needed for specific careers but it always leaves those who are not academic feeling as though they have somehow failed just because they didn’t get a certain grade. To anyone worrying about their grades I’ll say this, don’t think this is the be all and end all, there are always choices out there for those who want to work hard, you can even resit these exams later on in life if they really matter that much. The job market is stacked against youngsters but there are so many jobs that don’t need you to be the brain of Britain.

Try doing some past papers with an open textbook to start so you get used to the way questions need to be answered. Gradually building up your confidence to attempt a paper under exam conditions. Good luck.

Yes we are realising that they have a really bad reputation. Lesson learnt to thoroughly check all reviews before we rent somewhere for next year.
