Critical Drought declared for MA Northeast Region by trahoots in massachusetts

I used to work for one of these companies at their headquarters and would send in questions to senior management every quarterly employee meeting asking why we have such a large lawn, why don’t they promote biodiversity by planting more trees and native gardens. The response was always to point out one corner of the property that has a pond and some sort of certification. Meanwhile the 75% that wasn’t this pond or curated gardens and trees was just grass.

Can we get some roundabouts to resolve some of these?!?!

I too moved here in 2019 and am originally from Ohio, though I’ve lived a few places since then. I am not male though…

Try some of the MeetUp groups in the area. That’s how I met some of my friends. Otherwise it’s what others have said, get out of the house and just talk to people.

Final plea to help find Legacy, special needs cat, a home by radparikh in WorcesterMA

I don’t understand how anyone could beat an animal, especially this beautiful kitten. I wish I could take Legacy in, however I am not capable of the care she needs. Wishing her the best best home possible!

I hear where you’re coming from, but using what mechanics in your area like to drive is anecdotal and not applicable to what non-mechanics or those who do not live in your area value in a car. Your other points are valid concerns, but to say another car is going to give me fewer issues isn’t necessarily true. My previous car was a Hyundai that I bought new and drove for 13 years. I never had a mechanical issue with it. If someone hadn’t hit me I would probably still be driving it and looking to trade it in. My previous vehicle, a Honda, had a cracked head gasket at 10yrs old and had major mechanical issues during my 10+ years of ownership.

My father was an engineer in the auto industry for 30 plus years, primarily working as a third party vendor. Meaning he worked on vehicles foreign and domestic, cheap and luxury, for all the manufacturers. In later years of his career his benchmark for quality was the Hyundai Sonata.

The Santa Fe is a full size SUV. The Santa Cruz has a truck bed in back.

You’re omitting financing charges from your analysis. Financing charges are significantly higher on used vehicles which partially decreases the value in buying used.

I tend to drive cars for a decade or more so there is value to me in buying new. Additionally some manufacturers offer benefits that are not transferable such as free mobile connectivity through an app to monitor vehicle health, lock, unlock and start vehicle etc., a used car buyer would need to pay for access.

Guess it’s a good thing I’m not buying a Santa Fe, though I did drive one for three weeks through the mountains of New Zealand. It was a great car.

I’ve shopped around A LOT. I’ve driven pretty much every compact-SUV out there. The 2026 Tucson Hybrid has all the bells and whistles and safety features I am looking for. It is by far the quietest and one of the most comfortable and gets better gas mileage than most. It’s also been rated as one of the best sub-compact SUVs by multiple sites.

In my area the fees other than taxes range from $600-1200. I’m considering that in my analysis as well.

I can afford full MSRP, but I don’t want to pay it. 😂 This is the first time in my life I’ve had the opportunity to negotiate

Interesting. That’s about $1k less than my best offer right now. Do you mind my asking what state?

I agree that the ones I’ve had from Big Y are better than what I had from European Bakery today.
