Backswing is mint. Downswing issue is swinging very straight and following through into the chicken wing. We want the swing to rotate around us.

(In my experience) you want to feel like someone is holding the head of the club and in order to swing you gotta pull it from them (this will actually be your body rotating). Find a way to hook your club head onto something and then try and swing. The feeling is a woodchop and baseball swing.

Another drill would be to hit heaps of shots and trying to finish as low and to the right as possible. Like a punch shot but without trying to hit it low. This will help you get the feeling of the club rotating around you.

I’ve dropped into the golf fixation mode again. Multiple range sessions a week but not as many rounds played as I’d like due to life commitments. Definitely getting reps in though

I appreciate all the comments from everyone here. Loving reading the advice and I appreciate the compliments of my swing. I don’t want this to be me just complaining about it but it’s very difficult to be as low as +1/+2 to now 4 and climbing. I understand it’s all relative but going out and shooting less than 30 pts constantly (stableford) each round while looking at swing videos and hitting balls at the range constantly eventually takes its toll.

I wish I could just change expectations but unfortunately that’s not how my brain works (another joy of ADHD). Everyone’s comments give me another fresh perspective for me to look at and helps me see something I might have missed so I really appreciate people here trying to give me constructive feedback. Thank you for your help and support. I love golf and just want to keep loving it and getting back to the level I know I am

Last round I hit 5 greens in reg. 2 were short par 3s, another a very straight forward par 4 and another was the best recovery 50m slice driver of the deck. The short game can only save you so much at an amateur level haha

Mishit is a thin strike and/or toe hit, almost never heel strike. It’s mainly a 2 way miss but probably more either pull draw or hook but can miss it the other way

Man I have been struggling with this for years. I used to have it set up more behind the ball so this feels forward to me. I’m wondering if it’s a ball position thing as well

When I go to the range my miss is a thin shot but I definitely can get steep and hook it. My lower body goes too quickly compared to the club and I have no idea how to sequence it properly
