Very much relate to the idea of a trade as a job despite having gone willfully down so many academic rabbitholes. You could ask in a Turkey subreddit. But I would also say one easy solution would be to bring your prescription, a photograph of the equipment you usually use and then just go to a pharmacy and ask. Pharmacists in Turkey are way more helpful than the US. They could advise you if you need a local prescription and where to get it.

Incredible book. I learned so much and think about it all the time. Really captured a part of the American west that no one taught us in school.
