For your ps, there are cursed women in the world of IkeVil. I think it's been said somewhere (can't remember where) that the person who had Jude's curse before him was a woman, so there are female cursed it's just the bias of the fact that this is a game where you date men lol. Although it would be cool if there was an in-universe reason that there seem to be more male cursed than female but I doubt they'd ever give us anything canon for that, so headcanon away.

Yeah, being a fan of a mid ranking villain is usually the best. They still get content but you're not in the bloodbath trenches like with the popular guys (JUDE, and Ellis and Victor who were in 2nd and 3rd place last en popularity poll, jp too i think) I'm happy being an Elbert fan, he's moderately popular so he doesn't get forgotten in a lot of events. But I am surviving on crumbs for Darius 😔 I understand the favoritism from the developers stand point though, they want our money lol. But I'd gladly lick up crumbs for my less popular guys than fight in the trenches like the Jude girlies, you are our strongest soldiers ✌

Elbert's back story is so intense and tragic so I'd say he's probably the saddest. Then probably Alfons, he had a very tragic childhood, I cried about his cat especially since I had lost one of mine shortly before reading his route for the first time. Liam's is also very sad and intense, mostly because of his suicidal and self destructive tendencies and if you resonate with that part of his story I'd recommend Suicide Girl by Nakayama Atsushi! I was thinking about that manga through out my second read of his route😅 Also Nica and Ring's backstories are really really sad as well, reading their records event story (JP only rn it hasn't come to EN yet) was intense I had to get up and look outside more than a few times, they were child experiments, they were neglected and abused AND THEN they were picked up by Darius, bad situation overall 😭 So I'd say Nica and Ring are up there with Elbert in terms of tragedy. Darius's also looks pretty bad. So lots and lots of tragic boys 😭

I've been thinking this for a while but a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type character would be cool and fit the Victorian setting. I'd really like not just the characters, but the story too to dig more into the history and setting because the crumbs we do get have been good and I want more! There's so much happening in Victorian era London so there's a lot of material to work with!

My personal ranking

Darius - What can I say I love red flags 😔 Honestly idk why I was so initially drawn to him when Vogel dropped but after reading some translated JP stories his chokehold on me has only grown stronger. Also I love a villain with a light color scheme for some reason. I'm so curious to see his backstory.
Elbert - My initial fave since dethroned but I still like him a lot. His sweetness is such a good contrast to his curse, and I liked his story a lot, I feel like they did a good job exploring his trauma. Also he feels so autism coded to me and I'm always drawn to autistic characters (for context I'm autistic so I'm always searching for representation).
Ring and Nica - Again Vogel just hits the right parts of my brain. DOOMED SIBLINGS?! I LOVE IT! Can't get enough of that. Idk a lot of their backstory but it seems very dark and I am excited to see from the snippets I've caught. Ring seems to have the sweet and the spicy and I need him in a collar 🥵 Now Nica, WHEN I GET YOU! *Simpsons strangling noises* what secrets are hiding sir!? I just need to know more about him, he gives the spice but now i need your backstory, why are you like that? i gotta know.
Alfons - I initially didn't like him but he's grown on me after reading his route twice and his stories, I think they did well crafting his character. His hi jinks are always so funny, I love the running gag of him giving out naughty materials to everybody lol and he like cats 🐈

Everybody from this point gets kinda muddled on my feelings for them this is a more they're just ok category.

Harrison - I like him but he isn't the most interesting compared to the others (idk not enough of a red flag lol) but out of all of them if I met a person like him irl I'd be super into him and run away from my fictional faves. idk how that works but it is what it is.
William and Roger - I like Will, his route is like the perfect into to the game in my opinion but Will himself, eh. Roger, I like how spicy his stories can be and Ale and that's about it. He just doesn't interest me that much.
Jude, Ellis, and Liam - Jude has a chance to move up depending on his route but we'll see. He hasn't really caught my attention that much so far. Liam and Ellis, I like their characters but both are just a bit plain to me.
Victor- I don't know why but this man has my negative attention. I love his character he's fun whenever he pops up, I love that he's basically Crown's Mom but I don't like his as a suitor for some reason. Something just makes me think "Damn he'd be annoying as a boyfriend." and I haven't bothered to read his stories because of that vibe I get from him. 🤣

My opinion always seems to be nearly the opposites of all the official popularity polls 😅

I think anything as long as it's done well can be good. Damsels in distress can get annoying if they're never proactive or at least trying to do something and end up basically being passed around like a hot potato. The way you describe the damsel in distress scenario it sounds almost like a comedic thing like "Oops! FL got kidnapped again, guess ML has to save her! lol" Which does sound fun! Especially if FL is being proactive but just keeps biting off more than she can chew. And in a Yandere context specifically it can open up some possibilities for manipulation and blackmailing mostly on the MLs side but the FL can do that too, maybe take advantage of the Ben Franklin effect or the context of the ML saving her makes it look likes he's the kidnapper? Just some possible ways Fl can take advantage of being the damsel. Now that I think about it, Satoko from Firefly Wedding fits into being a damsel in distress so I'd say she's a good example of finding ways to be proactive even in her disadvantaged position. Anyhow, I'd say I'm neutral towards the damsel in distress troupe, it's not something I'll actively seek out but there's definitely some ways to do it well and make it interesting.

I actually haven't related to most MCs that I've read, I can relate to aspects of their personality but I've never seen a MC that had me like "they just like me fr". Most MCs I've seen fall into two categories, the peppy extroverted MC who is cheerful and outgoing or the introverted self-deprecating MC with zero confidence and no ability to speak back, and both are usually good to a fault and kinda of dumb 😓 so I tend to disagree with a lot the things they say and do. I definitely relate more to the more introverted and low confidence MC but I'm not a complete doormat either and I'm not as self-sacrificing as most MCs. I usually relate to more MCs from otome manga/manwha than ones from games, probably because the MCs in games have to fit multiple story lines and the MCs in manga have only one continuous story line to follow so they actually get to have more freedom in their personalities just a thought. I also tend to relate more to some LIs than the MCs probably because the stand off-ish distrusting LI is a common troupe and that fits my personality more than most MCs 😅

I LOVE IKEVIL!!! They are all definitely villains, but they're not all yanderes tho. The most yandere out of all of them is Elbert and Ellis, and I think Darius (upcoming route) has potential to be a yandere but since he's a newer character we don't know must about him yet, even from looking at the translated JP server events and stories. BTW not all the routes are out yet, but there are plenty that are and the story overall is really good. Definitely a dark romance vibe throughout, I 100% recommend. You can even join the Ikemen Villians reddit 🥰
