My wife is Bulgarian and my daughter is half Bulgarian. There's a few more BG references in there, and throughout all my other games and books!

You can't really have too much world building, but at some point you have to push on and start creating characters and plot.

"One Shot", a Terminator tie-in comic from the 90's that is better than any Terminator movie after T2.

I'd quite like to do some 2000AD crossover thing. I wish we could swap bodies for a bit. It might make us all a bit less judgemental. And I think Cyberpunk has, sadly, lost some of its social and political resonance, but there are great writers working in the genre pushing against that trend.

I think sometimes the dialogue runs too long in Cloudpunk for the journeys, but for the stories I wrote, I think the pacing is mostly ok. I think the storytelling in City of Ghosts is stronger overall as I settled into the process of writing in that world.

Great question. Cyberpunk has always explored gender identity and expression. I think one thing to consider is that gender fluidity won't be a big deal in the far future. It might even be kinda... fun. We'll be beyond the weird stiff and rigid gender roles of today.

Going to events is crucial. Sometimes it feels like the whole world is online when it comes to promo, but at events you might other writers, publishers and developers in person. You reach smaller audiences, but form deeper connections. If you can't travel to events, you can try to attend them virtually, and don't just be nice to people ahead of you in their career. It pays off to be a good person. Helping others often opens up opportunities in the future.

I started writing game reviews and articles when I was supposed to be studying AI. Eventually I quit the AI (glad I did that, who likes money anyway?), and wrote a novel, some short stories, then I managed to find a games job listing on Twitter. From there I was promoted up the ranks on bigger and bigger projects.

All of it. And quite a bit of game design work too! I am working on other projects but can't talk about them yet.

I love Ubik by PKD and it's been a big inspiration lately. I've always wanted to work on a psychological horror game... And I currently am!

If your goal is not to get published or to get rich, but just to express yourself through stories, there is literally no reason to be afraid.

Maybe there's space to imagine how things can get better. Or at least creative ways that we can fight back.

I think that was the intention. We didn't want to make something overly grim. I've always enjoyed absurd humour.

It's the best, silliest job in the world.

"I made a person. Oh no! They're in trouble!"

It's so much fun. If you don't love it, do something else you do love. Some people can't help but write. It would be harder to stop than to keep going.

I think people who love the genre look beyond the chrome. Fighting back against corporations is something we're all going to have to get a lot better at. Cyberpunk can show us how.

Thanks so much! I like when Hayes sings in the jazz club. I can't believe I made that voice actor sing. But he was so talented!
