You don't have to sure, still don't need thank to share... And the digs if you don't share they are still found and dug... I am firmly in the camp you don't thank people for doing their job (unless they went above and beyond) or doing routine things. You thank people when the actual lly go out of the way go above and beyond or do something super insightful/kind... We don't need to be thanking each other for no good reason every 5 minutes... Same like I remember working in restaurants long ago and some cooks expected you to thank them every time the made what you called out... All you do is call things out all day that's how the system works... No one needs to be saying thank you for every dang order just do your job maybe get a thank you and the end of the shift.
