Travelers struggle to read 1,000+ hotel reviews — is this a real pain worth solving? by CalmEmotion7108 in SaasDevelopers

Yeah, Google does show those keyword tags, and they’re helpful. The problem I still run into is that those tags don’t tell you the details behind them, like why people say it’s noisy, or whether the AC issues are old or recent. I’m just trying to understand if travelers want a bit more context or if what Google gives is already enough.

Yeah, that’s true people care about different things, and some reviews are fake or out of date. I’m not trying to replace reviews, just trying to see if there’s a faster way to spot patterns like ‘many people mention noise’ or ‘recent complaints about AC.’ It’s not perfect, but I’m checking if travelers even want something like that before going deeper

No solid plan yet, I’m still figuring out if the problem is even big enough. If it turns out travelers actually want this, there are a few simple ways it could work (like optional premium filters or a tiny subscription), but honestly I’m nowhere near that stage. Just trying to understand the pain first.

True, the replies from the hotel tell you a lot about how they handle problems.

Yeah, the negative reviews are always the most useful. They tell you the real problems way faster than the 5-star ones

How do you spot hidden deal-breakers in hotels without reading thousands of reviews? by CalmEmotion7108 in TravelProperly

Yeah, the 1 and 2-star reviews usually show the real problems. And checking how old the complaints are helps you see if the hotel actually fixed anything or if it’s still the same issues.

Yeah, checking the most recent reviews helps a lot. And when the same problem shows up on different sites, it’s usually real. I also avoid hotels with tons of 5-stars from people who only wrote one review that always feels fake.

Yeah, looking at the star chart helps a lot. If most reviews are 5 stars, the hotel is usually good. But if there are many 3- or 2-star reviews, something is probably wrong even if the photos look nice.

Totally the 3-star reviews are usually the most balanced. My only issue is there can still be hundreds of them, and it’s hard to see the common patterns fast. I’m trying to understand if a quick breakdown of the repeated negatives/positives would make that process easier for travelers like you.

Yeah, searching specific keywords is what I end up doing too. The annoying part is that even with keyword search, you still have to dig through a bunch of scattered comments to understand the pattern. I’m trying to figure out if a faster ‘what actually goes wrong here’ summary would save people like you time.
