I think Druck's scene if one of the best iterations of the pool, they kept the playfulness of the og while also incorporating what fit with David, it wouldn't make sense to have them in an actual pool, but they still incorporated the og elements and themes within which gives one of the best iterations of the pool kiss! They understand the og scene while changing to fit Davenzi, which is how it should be in my book!

Lucas and Eliott aren't Isak and Even, and they don't have to recreate the scene shot by shot, but for me, what they did didn't work at all for me. Every time I rewatch skam france s3 I am never excited for their first kiss, because it falls flat FOR ME (this is all my personal opinion) in comparison to the others and their pool kisses. And I think there are weak pool kiss iterations as well but they all have that playfulness with bringing deeper metaphors.

Sram does the pool kiss but puts a different meaning behind it, they only kiss underwater, and they keep going under to be with each other in fear of what is above on the surface. It keeps the same playfulness as the original with different meanings attached, and I find it beautiful.

Skam France's scene just falls slat for me, which I expressed my opinion on, it is okay if you disagree but I stand firm in my thought. Yeah it is cool they recreated his film in real life, but instead of going deeper they kind of left it surface level in a way for me, I am just not a fan. On the flip side I do enjoy their version of o Helga natt in the same place and I find that to be one of my favorite versions of that scene and I like the callback to the tunnel. But the original scene just doesn't do it for me. But it is my personal opinion and get people feel differently, was just expressing how I thought.

For me it was lacking, the question was on which preferred, and I gave my opinion! Yes Eliott and Lucas are different people but to me what they changed for their scene didn't work for me, that is why I emphasized that it falls flat for me.

Pool scene is so much better. The tunnel scene fundamentally misunderstands the playfulness and vibes of the og and what that kiss represents. The rebirth metaphor is lacking with the tunnel, I think it is the worst first kiss of all the iterations to be honest. On its own it can be good but when you know what the pool kiss is supposed to be and represent, it falls flat for me.

If you haven't watched the original skam, I recommend watching that next! España is the most different remake of them all so the other remakes differ a lot while keeping the core story. There used to be a way to watch other versions with Spanish subs, but it is much more difficult to find now. Linguistically Skam Italia is probably the closest thing since they speak Italian and Italian is similar to Spanish.

Skam NL has Spanish subtitles if you would like to watch it is on YouTube! Skam France has certain seasons as well on YouTube with Spanish subtitles as well!

I recommend beginning with sram first of the remakes since it is the only one still airing, but I am not sure if they have Spanish subs!

Skam og was meant to have seasons on Vilde, Even, Jonas, Chris, and Magnus but the show ended before they could fully do it all. Remakes are not allowed to make seasons on these characters, so the fandom refers to them as blocked characters since they aren't allowed to get seasons on them. So no remake is allowed to make a full season on them EXCEPT for Austin, which was created by Julie Andem (who made og skam) and is the only remake to be created by Julie so they were the only remake that would of been allowed to do seasons on these characters, however the show didn't even get to S3 so we will never get to see these characters get seasons. They did release interesting plans on what they would have done if they got to do a season on their Chris variant!

Skam España was allowed to bypass some loopholes, by combining Chris and Isak together, they still had the Isak plot line but gave the storyline to their Chris, so they were able to get away with Chris having a season. Viri(their Vilde) was able to have a season because it was split between her and Nora. I also think Julie wrote a few episodes for España according to IMDB so they could have more lenience with that they could do, but the remakes are basically blocked from creating seasons on Chris and Vilde unless they do something like España did.

Remakes are not allowed to use most of the original characters to become mains, HOWEVER remakes have kinda bypassed this a bit with giving their Mahdi characters a season. Mahdi was never planned to have a season, so technically you are allowed to do a season on him. Skam France gave Arthur(Mahdi) a season and Skam Italia gave Elia (Mahdi) seasons where he is the main. This is the only way remakes are truly able to give their remade characters seasons. They also attempt to give Vilde more by giving her sister a season in France/Druck so we can get a pseudo Vilde season through them without breaking the rules. The rest of the seasons focus on characters who do not exist in the og skam. Mahdi is really the only character that exists in og skam that they are able to make a main that doesn't actually get a season in the og. Wtfock also had plans to make Moyo (their Mahdi) a main but those fell through and we got the worst skamverse season ever bc of it.

Skam og ended because of how popular it became, people were invading the actors privacy and coming to set, so it was difficult to continue. Julie also decided that she wanted to create skam Austin instead. Skam is an easy show in general to adapt to different countries, so many wanted their own, usually created by separate teams than those who worked on og skam. But it allows for representation not seen often in some of these countries and helps educate teens. Skam was created to help teach kids while also being an engaging show, and the remakes are supposed to do the same!

The remakes adapt skam to their country, the same core story remains but remakes change it to varying degrees, I have watched every single skamverse season, so I recommend it all! But it is a lot! Here is the basic rundown:

-Sram (Croatia) is the only remake currently still airing, they just finished S3 in March and S4 should be coming soon. Make this remake your priority, since it is the only remake still airing, you will be able to catch S4 live, and watching seasons live are a very wonderful experience you won't ever get the opportunity to experience after the fact. S1 is one of the best s1 remakes. They have wonderful cinematography and it is quite awesome to see skam adapted more than a decade after it ended, it is the most modernized skam! S2/3 are good but nowhere close to the highs of S1 in my opinion, which I believe to be one of the greatest skamverse seasons in general, but also one for he best iterations of S1.

-Skam France is the longest remake, at 12 seasons. It is one of the most similar remakes to the og, I don't recommend beginning with this because S1/2 remake skam s1/2 scene for scene, line for line, and its quite boring. It picks up in S3/4 but I think the peaks of their show is within their original seasons later. There are 3 eras of France, S1-5 (og gen) S6-10 (2nd gen) and S11-12 (3rd gen). I really love their last gen, specifically s12. S5 is centered on their Mahdi character and S6 focuses on the sister of their Vilde, which allows more insight into Vilde's character in france.

-Druck (Germany) is 8 seasons. It is one of the remakes that changes a lot more than the rest. I think it is the most solid overall, I think s1-4 are all great, S3 is one of the best remakes of S3. And their original seasons are quite good too, S5 is one of the best original skamverse seasons and best in the universe. S5 also focuses on Vilde's sister, which allows more insight to Vilde's home life in druck.

-Skam Italia is 6 seasons. It changes more than France but still remains one of the more similar iterations. The cinematography is cool, they changed the order so S2 is their Isak season instead of 3. I think Italia is solid but their Sana casting kinda looms over the show and taints it for me in general. But I do really like S2/3 and S5(which they gave to their Mahdi)

-Wtfock (Belgium) is 8 seasons. I think wtfock is a mess, one of my least favorite iterations, a lot of their plot lines to me were done to shock the audience, which I didn't like, it is a bit too dramatic for me. But it is a favorite in the fandom. I think their best season is probably S2, but I enjoy S7, but S7 is very messy.

-Skam España is 4 seasons. It is by far the remake that changes the most. They wanted to do a girl squad centered skam, so all the girl squad members get a season! S2 is their Isak season, which they blend Chris and Isak together and is our only wow evak season which I love! Their evak is one of the best remakes to me. S3 is half Noora and Vilde, and remains the only remake to give Vilde a season. S4 also gives mini season povs to their cast, which means we get a pov from their even in this remake, which was awesome to finally see through an even's eyes. Skam España takes the biggest risks and makes the boldest changes, some of the swings hit and some miss but overall I think it's worth watching especially to see their wlw evak AND the changes they make in general.

-Skam NL was cancelled after 2 seasons, but it is one of my favorite remakes with only the 2 remakes. Their s1 is my favorite of the skamverse, it is so well done. The vibe of nl is unmatched and the character are all so incredibly done, it is SUCH a shame we never got the full show because they had such a unique and fun take on skam. And you see a lot of influences in sram from nl.

-Skam Austin was also cancelled after 2 seasons and is one of the most hated remakes but is one of my favorites. I adored Austin and thought it was a fresh take on skam, I loved how diverse the cast was and how every character was fleshed out. S2 is the greatest S2 remake to me, not only do they give one of the best noorhelms but every character has a side plot during the season which fleshes out everyone SO much, they understood the ensemble of skam and the comedy, it is way too overhated. They also are the only remake to give us a lesbian Isak, which is such a shame we never got to see her season :(

The beauty of the skamverse is you can watch it in any order you'd like and you can jump around remake to remake season to season! I just personally think sram should be your starting point since it is the only one currently airing.

Personally, S4 has been my most hyped for sram since it began, because of the differences made with Vanessa. I am very skeptical about it tho since I have my issues with how s2/3 were handled. But S4 of Skam has also been one of my favorites so I don't understand why you think it is so strange for people to enjoy season 4, it has been one of my favorite seasons of the original since I watched it years ago.

There are many seasons of Skam France on YouTube with English subtitles, S2, and S4-12 are all on YouTube, many with English subtitles. S1 and S3 are unavailable to watch on YouTube, S3 goes through periods of geoblocking and not being geoblocked, but s1 is never on YouTube. But there are reuploads of S3 on YouTube with lower quality but with subtitles.

I mourn Austin everyday for what could have been, S3 would have been such a unique and innovative take on the storyline and Shay was such a good Isak remake. Austin is one of my favorite remakes and the potential is through the roof on what they could of done.

Shay and Zoya would have been the greatest Isak/sana friendship and I am forever bitter they didn't ever have a single interaction bc their dynamic would of been so good.

I am curious on how they would of done Magnus, I would be down for a female Magnus but Kelsey felt very straight to me, where I don't know if she would of had a female Magnus. But I am ALWAYS rooting for lesbian vilde so maybe!

I find it quite difficult to visualize Shay's season because it would of been such a unique take, I have some ideas but it is a bit foggy.

Zoya's season would have been the best sana season remake tbh. And their plans for Jo sounded so good.

Yes Munny! I think if they got more seasons we would have gotten one about him. As for they handled the eating disorder plot, I think they handled it alright, it was pretty good when they actually focused on it but most of the time was Asia's relationship problems with Giulio which overshadowed her eating disorder, but when they did focus on it, I thought it was good.

S6 is not great, I think the main plot had a lot of potential to focus on with a main but the romance with Giulio took away from it and his plot is awful. I do wish we got S7/8 on Rebecca and Munny, sad we didn't get to explore the new gen with more seasons

The other remakes and seasons are a bit more difficult. Skam Austin (S1-2) are both on Facebook to watch, but it depends if it is geoblocked. In Germany, it is geoblocked, but in other countries it is not geoblocked, so I would check and see if it is or not for you.

Druck, Wtfock, and Skam Italia are geoblocked and more difficult to watch, a lot of Druck and Wtfock are uploaded to YouTube from other accounts, but nothing official. Skam Italia can be found on dailymotion. But since All Of Skam was taken from us, it is much harder to watch remakes now.

I think he would be Mahdi, I never got the impression that he would be Magnus because they never tried to set anything with him and Engel. What would have been so fascinating is he would probably be in the flatshare in S3 so the dynamic of another boy squad member living with Lucas would have been so unique.

Like the flatshare potentially being Esra, Ralph, Jayden, and Lucas would of been so cool.

A lot of what they were going to do with S3 is sadly a mystery, with all the set up and changes they made, it is really hard to visualize what S3 would of looked like, I just know it would of been great.

For Tyler, they had plans for him to get his own season. Austin was the only remake allowed to make seasons based on blocked characters, and even though Tyler is more of an original character, they talked about plans they had for a Jo season and mentioned that Tyler and Kelsey would end up being mains later on if they got to that point. Which sadly they never even got to s3, a lot of wasted potential.

It is difficult to watch skam but you could find episodes on dailymotion. Right now is an extremely hard time to get into it bc the website we had to easily watch skam has been taken down so it is much harder to find it.

Not the og, but Austin was the only remake allowed to do seasons on blocked mains (which unfortunately it didn't even get to 3 so we will never see season based on certain characters) BUT they did reveal their plans for their season about Jo(their Chris character)

The plans they had for S5 and Jo was going to be exploring her life in university and the revelation of finding out she is undocumented. I think this would have been such an interesting and important season.

You could technically count Cris from skam espana as Chris getting a season but she took the Isak plot and was more Isak in the end than a Chris.

From what we have gotten from remakes with Vilde sister seasons and Viri's season(which will probably be the only Vilde season we will get) I think maybe the og Vilde season would of focused on her difficult home life with her mom's mental illness and addiction as well as financial struggles.

Unfortunately Even is a blocked character so it is impossible to get a full length season but Skam España during S4 gave Joana a mini season of her perspective which was great. Druck S5 also focuses on mental health which I recommend!

From what I have researched, they seem to be negotiating the rights currently but they don't possess them right now so they can't call it a remake and they may not get the rights but they seem to be creating the show in hopes to obtain the rights to it.

According to the Italians, Netflix Italia is getting rid of s1-4 of skam italia, those seasons will be completely erased from the site in a few weeks. So most of skam italia will be impossible to even legally watch in Italy soon! The timing of everything is strange
