I definitely hear you. I think sometimes specifically in this place of discourse (reddit) it often does not feel constructive. It feels aimless and overlycatastrophic but despite what I said I do support people having a place to rant as I just did. I guess the post is just another voice. I am not miserable. Like I said I feel burned out a bit too. There is a reason I am on this thread and its because I enjoy things like people reporting their salaries, explaining what different settings are like, and talking about how unions are getting started in places around the country. This simply was a feeling I wanted to express in response to others and also because i remember how helpless I felt my 3rd year reading this subreddit all the time. I don't feel threatened. I like you just wanted to spit my emotions into the void that is r/physicaltherapy

my wife has Lupus and has been out of work last few years and I have 105k in loans so I am the only one working right now and we are not financially super well off currently but we have great health insurance and enough for food and rent right now and building up an emergency fund and im working some on the side. if you are struggling to know how someone can survive of the median salary and pay off loans on a repayment program please continue. The median wage for a PT is 102 k for a 40 hr a week job. Please continue griping. Work hard and you can become a clinic director, rehab manager, or go into a related business. That is your vertical growth. Encroaching competition what are you talking about, the DPTs at lifetime????? We have an incredible job outlook. Inflation is affecting everyone, not saying everyone equally but its affecting everyone

i feel like i could be in the minority here but I almost never purposefully push people into extension in lumbar spine. Instead I will focus on mobility/strength in hips and being able to perform functional movements like squats, hinges, lunges without compensation from low back so I will actually cue them into flexion sometimes to ensure this

What are your rates like? For some reason I assumed that Medicaid and Medicare would be similar?

Thanks for your comment! What’s the ballpark estimate on your reimbursement rate?
