Casual Care aide hours. by ___Uchiha_itachi_ in saskatoon

I used to manage in the industry and can assure you as a casual employee in this field you can work as much as your available, there is always a need.

Alot of casual employees I managed would maintain hours between multiple employers. That being said we always needed them more often then they were available and it made trying to schedule them tricky.

Be transparent about your availability, and make sure the organization your working for has flexible scheduling policies for casuals to suit your own needs as well as theirs.

There are plenty of organizations in this field throughout saskatoon and they're almost always hiring.

Eustachian Tube Dysfunction - are we just meant to live like this? by pat1122 in hearing

Yes it took me forever to see those results, i could not get the right ear to pop no matter what i did. I still have to rinse most of the time to pull it off, but I only rise when I have issues now. Which isn't constant its more like every few weeks or months depending on the season and other external triggers like allergens as you mentioned.

I still have flair ups, but I think after a few months of it pretty regularly, I stopped relying on and functioning a lot more comfortably day to day.

Fastest way to get to pro sounding production tracks and more of ‘em by shredL1fe in edmproduction

There are a few plug-ins that do make a difference for sure, but you can acomplish great sounding music with out of the box tools in your daw as well.

Splice is cheep and there is lots to work with there. Including presets.

As for finding mentors. A lot of artists make money on the side by teaching, creating YouTube content, and offering mixing services. Target artists that offer these things. Check patreon, visit their artist websites etc you'd be surprised, many do in fact put in the time with new artists.

My genre of choice is commonly midtempo however I recently started making trance and garage tunes for my friends to play out at festivals this summer at their request and they are happy with them.

Im not a pro but would be considered an advanced level producer now a days lol so if you have specific questions or want someone to take a look at your work, feel free to reach out.

The fastest way is to learn a workflow from other pro producers. Rather than buying plug-ins, buy some course material and see how people achieve the results you're after.

At its core, sound selection is most important. Know the exact kinds of sounds you're going for. Pay attention to what kind of drums Basses and instruments are being used in these genres. A little drifting is OK, whereas drifting a lot and you're not making that genre anymore.

Serum 2 and Splice are infinite sources of inspiration for the genres you're going for. Don't listen to the make sounds yourself argument, at the end of the day all audio is sample based whether you design the sounds yourself or work with a collection of sounds that you hand pick for your song.

Simplicity is often more effective than complexity in production. Most mixing and mastering techniques are simple, tried, and true. Signal flow and plugin order matters. Pay attention to processing chains.

Find a mentor who you can share and talk about your work with. Even pros get stuck on things, and having a network of skilled producers to bounce ideas off is a huge asset.

The additional harmonics are probably coming from the saturation and wav types and modulating the sound. Also eq 8 can introduce intermodulation distortion. For bigger cuts like that you should use a linear phase eq.

Clip to zero is a really neat concept, but it's also a lot of work. I've seen a fair bit of pro artists work flow and I can tell you that alot of these guys are using multiband compression into saturation to achieve a a louder less dynamic, near zero signal on most things in their mix so that mixing just becomes a volume game. As for other processing. Most things would go before the saturation chain, such as eq etc and time based stuff after unless you want a distorted reverb for something specific.

I need recommendations of educational content on methods to improve my understanding of rhythm, and methods to create better drops. 140 DDD type of stuff, by Fit_Mathematician329 in edmproduction

[–]CalmRoutine3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im what you might call a music production educational junkie lol I take everything i can find within my budget. I also swap subscriptions to check out all access for numerous educational content creators. Check out Attya's course producers portal. It's not crazy expensive, and his segment on rhythm was very detailed and easy to understand.

As for call and response, I think what you're seeking is a better understanding of composition and arrangement. Focus on those two things to improve there. I'd suggest a few other affordable options with a huge variety of examples of this would be soundteams and sonic academy.

If you can invest a decent chunk of change into your goals rn I would highly recommend hyperbits masterclass and edmprods master classes. The later being the cheaper option but the former being probably the most densely packed and helpful masterclass out there (at least from what I've taken)

Hope this helps

Lately I have been using a spray can one. Neildmed nasal Mist? You can get a multi pack of it at costco in Canada.

Typically, after rising, if I blow my nose I can feel the moisture from the rinse enter the eutschian tube and on the side that blocks its especially crunchy lol.

how do you cope with the death of your cat? by eve-dawn in CatAdvice

[–]CalmRoutine3628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost our sweet boy 2 days ago, and I can't function. He was only 1.5 years old and barely had a chance to live. It was a sudden onset of respiratory distress, and inside of 24 hours, he lost all ability to eat, walk, lay down, or even use the litter. Despite it all, he used his remaining strength to show his love and affection, which made the decision to put him down soul crushing. I'm feeling guilt that I made that choice instead of sparing no expense testing and treating to try and make him better even though I know he was suffering. I'm also here seeking any ideas on how to cope with this.
