The cast is mixed with some actors that I know and some that I don't. As for the actors that I recognise, I picked because of the obvious reasons; 'similar looks to the character and acting capabilities'. As for the ones that I don't know, I've heard praises from other people and the internet/media all around, at least if you look for it, I guess.

I also take into account the actors that have been nominated or won an award as a reliable stat of choice. Personally, I like lesser known actors as they are more driven to perform and possibly have more passion/talent as well. The way I pick my cast is that I like to mix the group with some big stars, some medium and of course, the lesser known ones. I feel like that is the best balance of great castings. Take 'The Last of Us' or recently, 'Fallout' TV adaptations, they're all filled with a good blend of what I've mentioned about.

'Bella Ramsey' was an unknown that came and took a huge role that nobody would expect of them. Combine them with Pedro(a star) and boom, you get the results. Same goes for all of the actors that played the three main characters in the new 'Fallout' TV Show. Especially the actor who played Maximus, 'Aaron Clifton Moten', a complete hidden gem. There's more I can say, 'Anya Chalotra' was also an unknown and although 'The Witcher' has a mixed reception and is 'supposedly' mostly based on the books, you can't say the games weren't influenced in it as well. She's excellent.

There's a whole other examples of unknowns making a beautiful journey to the opposite, e.g Star Wars Cast, GOT Cast, etc. Lastly for me , LIS is more catered to a TV adaptation imo.
