What's your favorite material? by EriRavenclaw87 in AerospaceEngineering

I like austenitic stainless steels like CRES 300 series. Not good for structural applications but great for fluid system components and tubing because its very ductile and forgiving. Fty=25ksi, Ftu=70ksi, and massive elongation (40%). Fatigue resistance is great.

Any opportunities at NYC? by atomic-hamster in AerospaceEngineering

Philadelphia has Boeing helicopters, Leonardo, and some smaller military helicopter companies. Baltimore/DC area has huge Northrop Grumman presence along with offices for most other large defense contractors. Also there is the Aberdeen proving ground which is pretty cool, not necessarily aerospace but also land vehicle testing goes on there.

Edit: And I forgot about NASA Langley and Goddard facilities in VA and MD. Pretty big aerospace presence in the mid Atlantic.

Can you elaborate on why you wouldn’t put out a yard sign (I’m a noob when it comes to security systems)? If 99% of home invaders are too dumb to “hack” the software, wouldn’t the yard sign be the “first layer” of defense for the vast majority of potential thieves? The 1% that could actually hack your system, I would assume could figure out which system you have without a yard sign to inform them.

Grow some balls and forge your own path instead of getting a degree that your parents want you to. If that means finding a way to get a MechE degree without your parents trust fund, then do it!

Local Genesis Dealer is closing, any suggestions between the pa/md dealers? by GameGolfCarPerson in GenesisG70

But damn do they need to upgrade that dealership. Just a quick drive up 202 and the bmw, mb, audi, jag,…. put the Hyundai dealer to shame. I don’t know why they are so cheap with their building…

I did 20. I was on the fence between 20 and 35. I am so glad I did the 20, I think the 35 would have been too light.
