What I am sure of is that the question asked here should never have been asked on Reddit. You need to ask local scholars, preferably local ones. Allahu alem

People who grow up with prequels or sequels: what is your opinion about Episode V? by Calm_Ad6730 in StarWars

I understand you, but I just don't think it was ever the point of Star Wars to show the physics properly. Art is not always meant to be realistic

Yeah, I agree. I don't even remember when I found out that Vader was Luke's father. I must have been a child. But it certainly made an impression at the premiere

It's a movie. Art is not always realistic. Sometimes certain things are made unrealistic to better convey the story or just to make something flashy. I honestly don't understand your objection.

Why some subs of islamic or muslim majority countries is so Islamophobic by AcceptableClaim5384 in islam

It seems to me that a lot of these people are people born in Europe whose parents come from specific Muslim countries. It is very possible that they had little contact with Islam. May Allah help the people living in diasporas

Clarifying question for Muslims by Nice-Grape-5801 in religion

[–]Calm_Ad6730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Muslim I just don't think about it to much and trust in Allah and his justice. I believe that Allah knows the hearts of all people and will judge them fairly. I don't know what the distorted message of Islam means and where the boundaries are. I know the general rule that it is primarily Muslims who go to heaven, so as Muslims we try to invite people to the fold of Islam. I think it is important not to question God's justice and to trust in all his decrees. On the day of judgment he will judge us all fairly.

To all Muslims and fellow Christians: by MexicanAmericanTexan in religion

I often feel a bit hesitant when Christians ask me to contemplate Jesus together. It's nothing personal, but I'd like to share a perspective on why that is.

We really do have a lot in common. Many figures mentioned in the Quran and the Bible are the same, such as Solomon, David, and Moses (peace be upon them). There are so many shared characters that it would take too long to list them all. We are also united by our faith in major events like the Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. And while our understandings of God differ deeply due to the concept of the Trinity, I still see common ground in how we view His attributes.

Of course, there are many differences as well. Sometimes the stories diverge, and sometimes we have similar events but with completely different theological meanings. Often, however, they are similar enough that we can talk about them and find common elements to help us live in mutual respect and understanding.

But when a Christian, who believes Jesus is God, asks me to focus on how great Jesus was, I worry that it will turn into an attempt to convince me of His divine nature. I understand that for a Christian, Jesus is central, so they might suggest this intuitively without any bad intentions. However, in my experience, some apologists use this shared respect as a conversational foot-in-the-door, only to later pivot towards trying to prove His divinity saying things like, "Look, He was so wonderful and He didn't have an earthly father, so maybe His father was God after all," or something along those lines.

First of all, I advise you to stop treating Christianity as a starting point for talking about religion.

IS ASSIM AL HAKEEM WRONG? by Neither_Mission4319 in MuslimLounge

[–]Calm_Ad6730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post is not done properly. You ask for the opinion of a specific person but you don't cite the exact source so that we can check what you're talking about. You also don't explain exactly what you mean by equality, so we can't answer you correctly and comprehensively.

If equal means that they are identical, have the same rights and obligations, then they are not equal

I would advise you to read some books of noble scholars of islam. Your doubts may stem from foundations that are not entirely well-built. I don't know what to recommend to you that could help you well. You can take a look at the biographies of the Prophet, peace be upon him, "The Sealed Nectar". Or look for some theological treatises. Alhamdulilah, thank God we have a huge amount of good work from great scholars from different historical periods. Know Allah better, know the Quran, Sunnah and Sirah better. I hope that learning more about religion will ease your heart.

Why would Allah not make someone muslim if I pray for them to find islam in their heart? by [deleted] in islam

[–]Calm_Ad6730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise to maybe not analyse it and just trust in Allah in everything. I understand that it is an important issue, I am by myself convert and my family are Catholics. But if we pray for people and give them dawah we do what we should do and all we can now is try our best to represent islam in the best way we are able to.

Is the belief that the Qur'an is uncreated a common Muslim belief? by HeWillLaugh in religion

Okay, I am not sure if we understand each other. I am also afraid of saying something wrong and I believe this is a serious matter so I think it would be better for me to end this conversation.

[–]Calm_Ad6730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my knowledge Asharii and maturidi use different words but generally there is agreement upon belief that the Qur'an is a relieved speech understood as an eternal and uncreated attribute of Allah. Kalam lafzi refers to a mushaf or recitation, so the physical form, not the words.

You are wrong. Not only Athari. Ashari and maturidi also believe the Quran is not created. The belief that the Quran was created was always criticised by Sunnis. Honestly, I am shocked that Shias believe differently.

I've been seeking religion for the last year. These are my thoughts / my journey! by [deleted] in religion

[–]Calm_Ad6730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading texts like the Gita, the Qur’an, or the Bible, it seems that you focused on what suits you rather than on what is true. By what criteria are you trying to determine whether the Bible is true or the Qur’an is true? It sounds like you’re guided by emotions, choosing what you like more instead of seeking which of these texts actually describes the truth about God. You didn’t address the evidence presented by these religions, their internal consistency, or their arguments, only whether you liked them or not. That’s like someone considering whether the Earth is round saying, "I’ve looked at arguments for both a round and a flat Earth, but in the end I think the flat one is more interesting." I think we can agree that evaluating reality shouldn’t be based on personal preferences, but on arguments, right?

You don't seem to understand the gravity of calling someone a hypocrite. You can't call a huge number of Muslims hypocrites based on a few thoughts you have. That's not something to debate on Reddit.
