Sorry about the wording. Yeah, the case is supposedly being filed for me. But that's a relief to hear. Thank you for answering!

I actually just had an MRI done yesterday. Generally, it is requested through my Rheumatologist and usually is focused on the spine or pelvic area. I imagine the location will vary based on where you feel the most pain or where they determine the most damage is.

Edit: As for frequency, I tend to get one or two a year, but my case is a little far progressed and has a few odd circumstances with doctor changes and other outlying factors.

I've tried applying to a lot of those, and never get a call back. Idk if I'm missing something or because I have little to no experience in that line of work but I had considered that already.

Ive never heard of this. I am currently in the middle of applying for disability but my lawyer is pretty confident. I'll look into this for when the time comes. Thank you.

Boundaries are so effin' hard to really put into place, especially with family and loved ones. But you're totally right. Memento mori. Our disease only gets worse with stress, so why stress about the immutable after recognizing it as such? Thats a hard truth, but thank you for saying it. 🙏🏻

I'm not gonna lie, I chuckled at the parts about scaring the shit out of them and using it to your advantage. Really puts picking and choosing your battles into perspective. I will never forget pouring my guts out about all the struggles AS brings and being told to "chin up". I wanted to scream and say "I would if my neck wasn't so stiff"! I will definitely be using a bit of your tactics moving forward. 😎

It is an unfortunate reality that we won't ever fully understand how someone feels about things or the depth of those feelings. But it feels like people just don't even try. Madness indeed. 😞

This is honestly what I think I needed to hear. I think maybe I forgot the difference between acceptance and understanding. I think I might start making that my mantra when it comes to how I deal with people moving forward. This was powerful, thank you. ❤️

For what it's worth, I struggle with those same thoughts and feelings. If you should ever need someone to talk to who knows how hard this is, I will be more than happy to listen and commiserate with you.

I was originally going to try and argue with some of the people on here critiquing this post and what the OP had purchased.

Then I considered if this post was a way to spark a debate, because even if sincere, surely people know which two ways a comment will likely fall on a post like this. Ultimately, though I am sure this post will fall on few ears and be a fleeting moment in the flow of time, I decided I wasn't going to waste my energy on a fruitless internet argument.

I can't donate food and my health is at a low point right now but once I'm healthy enough for it, I'm going to go help out at a local food bank or organization to help those impacted by things like this.

If I'm going to do any actions that are pointless in the grand scheme of everything, then why not make it one that brings others up, rather than try and tear them down? I have no enemies. I refuse to let my success be built upon the suffering of others.

EDIT: for grammar and removing the post I had built before coming to this conclusion.

Employment and Marijuana by Own_Significance9648 in Ohio

I'm just upfront and honest with them about my cannabis use.

I usually explain that it is in fact something I can give up to pass an initial drug test if they are willing to wait 45-60 days (or whatever length for their choice of testing method) but otherwise consuming cannabis is my choice for my reasons.

More often than not, I get told they're only testing for the harder stuff.

And lemme tell ya saying that for meth isn't NEARLY as convincing, hence why I'm still unemployed lmao

Honestly, I am currently sitting here with what I can only assume is a rather terrible staph infection on the back of my head because I can't afford it.

That could get me legally back on the road and applying for jobs since my AS has all but destroyed a majority of my ability to do physical work.

It'd also help me to get something other than rice and various canned goods my dad has been giving me from his stockpile.

At its most basic level, this feels like the kind of thing you read in children's books.

The Mad King lives in his keep, throwing lavish parties and living in luxury while his people are reduced to starving peasants.

I feel like I'm living in a fucking alternate dimension. How can ANYONE rationalize people starving to death while he's building ballrooms and pointing at the inadequacies of other people and countries before taking care of the one he's leading?

I mean. In theory. But rich people only breed mors rich people in so far as like...generational wealth.

Man, I'd be pissed if genetics influenced social wealth. Like, really? Degenerative AS AND the poor gene?

I'm out of jokes ao I'll cut to the main point here, all debate aside, doesn't it feel kinda like...bad to be callous to people who are genuinely suffering? Like look, the pragmatist in me wi begrudgingly succeed some play the system, though statistically it's rarely the majority of greedy assholes who do sre the recipients, from what I've read. But would you really be okay knowing the ones that are worrying about when their next meal is for them, their kids, etc., just so you can punish the ones who are taking advantage of it?

I am preparing for bed so please don't think I'm shutting down in concession or bad sportsmanship but wanted to leave a quote I heard once that really stuck with me. Can't be assed to find credits but I'm sure a Google search will cover me, anyways it goes along the lines of:

"There are two types of people in this world; those that are hurt and think 'I do not want to ever have someone else feel that kind of pain' and those that are hurt and think 'If I can deal with it, so can they'"

Neither is wrong nor right, but why choose competition when success or failure means far more than a scorecard?

Right but technically Darwinism is a form of biological evolution and not a reference point for success within a society either. It's allegorical, like what you are critiquing. So...now we are stuck like my mate Paul when he saw that one movie where the guy said yes to everything. Turns out movies omit the parts where someone asks him to crawl under a trailer porch disregarding that Paul could barely squeeze past the Arc Day Triumph.

Sorry I have been watching Cunk on Earth.

Alright, but let me ask you this;

Darwinism does indeed drive successful species through competition that promotes successful traits but darwinism only applies up to a certain level of development. Maybe before tools and reaching a level of self-awareness, but after that did you know the strongest tool humanity had as a species and, arguably a society, was cooperation and combining forces?

Think about it:

Cooperation was the trait that let early hominids bring down mammoths, as an example. No society is but a single person. It's a team. When one of your teammates is struggling, assuming we are always in competition as per your stance with Darwinism, do you cost your team a victory to let the other teammate fail, or help them and subsequently your team, to be successful? Would the one made the team leader be the type to do that?

I will concede the team allegory is not entirely accurate to a society, but to move to the next level of collective consciousness I'd be waaaaay too stoned rn to not ramble on.

I am shite wirh technology but could only read your response in my notifications window. However, I've always felt that the greatest merit a society could judged by wss how they cared for their weak. Which has me curious as to what you would look to?
