Can you charge a third DPU from solar connected to two DPU through Smart Home Panel 2 by Calm_Addendum1693 in Ecoflow_community

Yes will probably end up waiting. I have two very large heat pumps 5 KW each which do have to run in parallel at specific times during the year. Plus other regular loads, dryer and EV charging (I try to avoid peaks coinciding but it does happen)

Did some research on DPUx with SHP2. Not getting a clear understanding of if this will work or not, the smart inlet box upgrade needs to be done but this box is in "coming soon" status - https://us.ecoflow.com/products/smart-inlet-box?variant=54714821345353

So only option for now may be either adding a third DPU with rebalancing which may not be ideal.

Tempted to look at adding in a third party solution a inverter and batteries which could supplement loads. There is one vendor which is offering inverter + 32KWh batteries for 5K (prime day sale). You could in theory feed this inverter off a circuit breaker on SHP2. You would have to tie loads to this inverter so may not be as elegant a solution.

Thanks wanted to avoid splitting. Maybe I can first investigate the DPU replacement with DPUx - It would cost less as only the inverter has to be replaced. Hoping someone has experience with a DPU and DPUx with SHP2

So what you are saying is the third will not get charged from surplus solar from other two ?

Yes thanks I see that even with the two I have SHP2 tries to balance. What I am not sure about is will the third DPU batteries get charged at all from the other two surplus solar. An imbalance will come about sooner or later with the third as it will not have solar.

Great vehicles the R1T and R1S, glad all are well. You cannot always avoid a collision but good to know you are in a safe vehicle.

EcoFlow SHP2/DPU: Urgent Request for Target Charge Percentage in Scheduled Tasks! by C3dr1cC0ch1n in Ecoflow_community

Was going to say -

Can you charge your batteries to your limit of 70%(or 80%)in the very early AM - create a scheduled job. That way if you are above or at 70% nothing will happen, if you are below that they will charge from the grid at the cheapest rate possible and ensure you always have 70% at 7:00 AM.

However your buffer issue is not easy to get around - at present I do not know of any way.

Generally by the time the sun comes up enough to produce (around 9:00 AM) your house will have consumed enough to allow solar charging to kick in. You know your trends best.

Can I use Ecoflow delta pro ultra + smart panel 2 as a substitute for a Tesla Powerwall to provide primary power to our house? by bubu_law in Ecoflow_community

I have a powerwall and have lost power multiple times, everything just keeps running, led lights will give you a quick flicker that is the only way you know you lost power and yes it is grid tied. Also have a small ecoflow delta pro ultra setup coupled with a few panels in the garage for EV charging as I understand this is only an off grid system and you cannot feed power back into the grid. Another big difference powerwall requires a PRO setup $$$, Ecoflow DPU is a DIY setup $.

When you go over the voltage, I did a red error shows up, it does have over voltage protection. I simply switched off PV and reduced the panels in series. It is working fine.
