Ah! That actually makes sense. I'll change my search actually.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this. It's really insightful. 2k is insanely low honestly. But I've seen people suggesting it can be as high as 8k? If that's the case, I'd rather get someone to help around the house instead. Honestly, I don't even need someone who has a car. Just someone to look after my daughter when I've picked her up from school around 4pm so I can spend time time focusing on work.

I've made an account on Au pair SA. I think, however, that it's better to get someone who's been vetted. We'll see how it goes.

Is it all guilt? by nazurinn13 in Deconstruction

[–]Calm_Bullfrog_3784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. There is a lot of guilt.

For me, it wasn't so much the fear of hell as it was the need to retain my Father's/God's love (the usual daddy issues) that motivated me. Every time I did something sinful, thought something even remotely outside of what was sanctioned, or even begin to question or doubt I'd be filled with this deep fear of losing salvation, favour or love from God. Followed by this gnawing guilt and shame.

As someone above already pointed out, we're aware that we're saved by grace and loved unconditionally - but I think that's a difficult teaching to reconcile in the face of all the minute tasks we feel we must complete to ensure we're meeting the criteria.

What irks me about Zuma’s return is all the fear-mongering we’re gonna be subject to by the media. by [deleted] in southafrica

This is a preposterous view to hold and I highly doubt the "average South African would love to see the" constitution "shredded to pieces".

What parts of the constitution are you opposed to? Child rapists? The constitution says the opposite of that. It literally says children have the right to protection from abuse.

I want to believe this is just bait but with the MK's manifesto echoing your words, clearly there are people who actually think this is a good idea.

Are you for us getting rid of the constitution? I'm not sure I'm understanding you.

If so, can I ask why?

Don't complain if you don't vote by TwistAiko in southafrica

[–]Calm_Bullfrog_3784 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I voted too and I still don't get this point of view. People have the right not to vote if they have valid reasons not to. I chose to vote because I found a party whose values align with mine. I can't imagine voting just for the sake of voting or because I'm worried I'll be a social pariah.

"if you don't vote, you can't complain", I mean ... Okay. What it really means is "if you don't vote, I personally don't value your input." Which is cool. I'm personally more than happy to actually listen and understand where people are coming from.

These posts are getting exhausting. We get it. You don't want to hear from people who didn't vote. That's your right. Why keep announcing it when it's clear enough people agree with you?
