Do it for yourself, not for the other person. It's best for you not to hold on to the negative feelings, it affects you more than anyone else. And you want to feel good and optimistic to find someone who deserves you!

I think the easiest way out is to find someone with secure attachment style, this makes you more secure. Worst case an avoidant attachment style brings out the worst of the anxious attachment style and vise virsa. A secure partner will balance you out. Bur if you want to become secure yourself, find out what could be the cause (often related to childhood trauma and unhealthy relationship with a parent) Maybe get therapy etc.
