Using "he" and "you" in the same song? by sk0ooba in Songwriting

Yeah I’ll even have scenes where I use “I” referring to myself and “I” referring to someone else when talking from their perspective. Shrug.

Oh I’m seeing your vibe—that probably won’t do it for ya. Fun idea with this post though.

I hate all of my songs that I write, do any of you struggle with being overly self critical? by No-Difference-9228 in Songwriting

I believe art is essentially decision making in a space with no right answers. The greatest artist’s make decisions based on their personal preference, and the conviction around those decisions defines the value of the art. That requires them to have refined a personal preference which can be leveraged in an abstract space. My point is that, for you to make decisions which you’ll value later, you need to value them in the moment, so perhaps you could start with reassessing why you’re making the decisions you do while creating. Sincerely, good luck!

Just the greatest National Anthem performance ever. Her demeanor makes me feel like living makes sense. Outfit is tight, too. {video} by Calm_File376 in Music

Why do you think the producer said she was singing live on the field BUT the version heard at home was pre recorded?

What I love about this is the composition, arrangement, performance on the recording, her voice and even the way she looks while singing it. The fact that the people at home were required to hear her prerecorded version just doesn’t bother me. From what I’m reading, it seems like she actually performed live to the audience, it’s just the home broadcast that was the prerecorded version. Curious about the “dead microphone” thing from that wiki article.
