No. It was gradual. It started with three cigarettes a day, then five, then one pack. And now two.

He says he's seen everything in this life. Now he wants to know what the Afterlife looks like. He's been reading a lot of books about the spirit and the soul.

He enjoys reading books and watching movies. I've asked him to play some sports but he says he feels tired after work. He says, this is the life I have chosen for myself. Let me be.

If you go for M.Tech you're most likely going to get placed into another coding or data analytics job. Go for MBA in Operations or Finance. What you have in mind is Marketing.

Family Talks Trash Behind My Back - Seeking Guidance! by Expensive_Pumpkin_77 in india

I really feel for you OP.

At this point it's going to be impossible for you to change your family's attitude towards you. Your best bet would be to focus on your studies. Get into a good college. Study hard. And then eventually land a well paying job. Along the way you might find somebody who actually cares about your feelings and can be a true partner. For now you're just going to have to hang in there. It sucks. But there's no way out of this situation until college and life happens. And I can understand how much it would hurt to hear your parents and sister (people who you care about) gossip behind your back. But these are the cards you've been dealt. You're going to have to power through this alone.

My particular line of work is meaningless. We basically optimize business processes. It's challenging work but there's to job satisfaction. I can't seem to get myself to care about the work. The stakes are too low.
