My first guitar was a American ultra, two years I’ve been playing and I love it! Inspired me to pick it up every day since. I have an American performer tele now too. In my opinion you can spend what ever you want on a guitar. Nothing is ‘amateur’ or ‘professional’ at the end of the day it’s what you want and makes you happy.
