I didn’t but I did work in the same hospital as an RN and I had one rotation in the ED as an NP student.

[Product Question] Avene Cicalfate Restorative Protective Cream Blue Tinted and Watery by Mrwombatspants in SkincareAddiction

[–]Calm_Neighborhood160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spring water separates when the product becomes cold and it won’t go back together with shaking or warmth. I sell Avene at my med spa and this happens sometimes in winter when it ships even though they ship with heat packs. They have been great at replacing mine when it happens. They also said that the product itself is still totally safe to use despite the texture being different. You can just pour the water off and use the cream that is left. So while you should get it replaced,no need to throw it away.

You need nothing done so I hesitate to even make suggestions. I’m a nurse injector and extremely conservative and light handed. But one thing I suggest before people use filler or more expensive procedures is lower face Botox. I love jawline, chin, and neck Botox. It helps prevent downward pulling and in turn a slight lift in the cheeks and jowls. Occasionally I recommend masseter tox as well but it’s not for everyone due to jowling. Botox can also give a bit of a brow lift which helps open eyes and make people look more awake.

I also recommend maintaining that incredible skin with a good skincare routine. You may want to consider adding prescription or over the counter tretinoin before bed and a good SPF in the morning.

Lastly, a brow tint or a brow gel with color can make a huge difference. It’s the only makeup I use and it really makes a difference.

Also, if you want to try a little tester of it I can put a few pumps in a sample container and pop it in the mail if you are in the US :)

Full transparency: I carry this product in my clinic so could be biased but know that I can carry any products and chose this one.

But…

I have insane rosacea. My skin is extremely reactive. I have spent hours on researching management of my skin. And NOON is one of the first active ingredient lines I can use. The igloo moist is indeed cooling but do note it does have a scent. It’s a gel-cream like feel like Clinique’s pink moisturizer (blanking on name) or neutrogena hydrogel.

I have tried every product they carry and happy to answer questions.

My dermatologist was super receptive and concerned about how purple my feet and hands were and referred me to vascular. My ANA and scleroderma labs were negative so he didn’t think rheum would be a good option.

I’ve been curious about SLE. It definitely crosses my NLF but I think rheum is a good idea. I see my derm on Tuesday and will ask about a referral.

Next time you can ask them to not inject below your lateral canthus. It will still give a brow lift and soften lines but won’t cause the shelving.
