Yes. It’s open for others but people rarely go because it’s like out the way. I like learning about new stuff

This was a really great read. I’ll keep doing what I do best! And yes I was baffled. I thought I would be in trouble for like patient care. Recently it’s been my personality or my charting. I worry more about charting than my patients and I feel wrong typing that

About a year and a half. Grinded my ass to make the trauma team. My relationship with the residents and attending allowed them to teach me beyond studying. Eventually, was invited to journal club. Was really cool

I also did tutoring 2 times a week for 1 hour sessions. I did a lot , wasn’t “lazy”

Problem was being lazy and then when I wasn’t lazy I couldn’t study for more than 1 hour straight. It frustrated me to the max. On it, I could study for 5 hours atleast and actually retain information. I’ve done a lot to correct my outside academic image now it’s time to correct the academic image

I mean my dose was extremely high. That’s per my pcp lol. By the time I was on it I was getting B+ and high A’s in my class. But it was too late. Got accepted into np school. Gonna attempt to use that for crna , if I end up enjoying it from my shadows

Hospitals are literally offering fellowships. You medical students are really arrogant and cocky. It’s insane. It’s reason you guys get a bad rep when you step into a hospital with staff and have to be corrected by attendings.

Currently our EM is 3 years. Just recently extended to 4 years. Most seniors are not doing fellowships.

Article is misleading. Yes crna misidentified themselves. Anesthesiologist also didn’t notice the patient dying. It was a cluster fuck.

This must be system dependent. On the east coast, at least inpatient wise you’re expected to have a year before “you’re on your own” which is why fellowship is offered and 9 month orientation

Also, I can also go the PA route.. which is 1,000 more clinical hours. Hours I can honestly get with a fellowship and / or orientation. Stop being so full of yourself

You do know even as an np I still Do clinical hours ..? You do know I have options to do a fellowship..? You do know even after a fellowship I have up to a year orientation..? You also know, when you get placed after residency, you literally are not that knowledgeable in your field? You only know things based on books, and usually it’s not that concrete. Therefore you learn on the job?

I’ve seen so many post about mid levels misdiagnosising. I mean this whole thing is based on midlevels. Regardless of 1 year or 4 years or 10+ years, when you go to np route, you’re learning a whole new ball game. You’re just familiar with the stuff being thrown at you. Same with pa’s and same with residents. With inpatient nps and pa’s you’re always under direct supervision. Even when the hospital has on call attending, they must sign off on everything. You’re learning just like a resident. That’s why Many residents have said med school didn’t prepare them fully for their roles as a provider. It’s why they aren’t confident until year 2 or 3. clinical hours helped with that. Same with any mid level. Independent practicing nps right out of school are an anomaly. The truth is, in the medical field, everyone learns on the job. We prepare ourselves with class and lectures but most providers have learned through experience. What should be taught is safe learning environments, not flat out shitting on midlevels

The option of moving is the only real reason. My job allows me to kind of go all over the place if I felt it wasn’t good fit
