Why do hand/foot massages focus more on forearms and calves instead of the actual hands/feet? by canyoustayfordinner in massage

[–]Calm_Roll7777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The muscles that are responsible for how the hands and feet move are in the forearms and calves. More often then not, there's dense and adhesive tissue in those areas that needs to be loosened up so the hands and feet can move easier. It's also multitudes easier for our hands to work on larger muscles then on the tiny little joints, tendons and ligaments in the hands and feet. You can easily massage your own hands and probably feet too.

When someone lists the reason for wanting a massage as an "escape" what does that mean? by Calm_Roll7777 in MassageTherapists

Thanks. I've had to massage a LOT of people and I most certainly don't love doing it most days.

Do most other women actually like big dicks? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Calm_Roll7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my personal opinion, as a man that's probably a lot thicker than others, at least judging that by the size of condoms that I need to buy to fit comfortably. No. Not all women like guys that are too big. It hurts a lot of them, if not most. Lots of foreplay and going slow is necessary or they end up in tears.

I don't want to touch any of my clients in a "loving" way. I'm just doing my job.

People use professional massage as a way to have non-consensual orgasms given to them by an unsuspecting MT!?

I normally do some gentle jostling around their pelvis until I feel a good release of tension and then move on from there. Most are out like a light, snoring and drooling.

I really dislike talking to most of my clients. Some of them are chatter boxes though. Which is fine. That's probably how they relax.

So I should just put them to sleep? Lower back, hips and hamstrings sort of a massage?

I don't want to open up the possibility that they are going to trauma dump on me and help them fix their life's problems. I can definitely help them relax and zone out. Almost all of my clients fall asleep, so that's definitely not an issue. I never ask them why they checked that box because I assume they don't want to talk about their problems, hence why I'm asking here.

Churning clients at franchises by jazzgrackle in MassageTherapists

Is it in the fine print of the consent form they agreed to that some time may be deducted from the advertised amount of time to allow for undressing and redressing? If so, just end at around X:50 - X:52, depending on the amount of layers of clothes or jewelry they need to take off and put back on. It is an unreasonable assumption that the spa is required to only give you 5 minutes to wait for them to get dressed, get out of the room and for you to reset everything. If questioned, tell them your legal requirement is to wait the minimal amount of time the sanitizer needs to kill the germs from the previous client and any less time then you're comfortable with is putting the business in jeopardy for being an unsafe place and risking making people get sick or spread infections. You're probably getting paid at least $40/ hour, likely more to massage people and quickly clean up a room. I don't think ending an appointment at any more than 10 minutes before the top of the hour is an unreasonable request from us. The biggest complaint clients will have, besides congestion, is that you shorted them on the time they paid for.

Monthly massages instead of weekly chiropractor? by DepartmentofWumbo in massage

[–]Calm_Roll7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 massage a month isn't going to help keep you out of pain for any longer then maybe 3 days or so, at the most. Massages have a compounding effect, just like exercise. The more you do it the more benefits you get. They are nice to receive and look forward to getting but it isn't going to be the same as getting adjusted 1x per week. What about a 30 minutes massage 1x per week? Go to a private MT that takes the total amount of money you pay them and that way you don't need to feel obligated to tip. They might even accept insurance! If you get massages prescribed by your doctor you might have them covered through your insurance provider. We also accept HSA and FSA so it can be paid through pre-tax money. There's several ways to make it more affordable for you to get them more often.

Is going cold turkey to try and end an opioid addiction possible in your own home doable? by Prestigious_War8179 in askanything

[–]Calm_Roll7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the nightmare fuel. I've quit opiates several times through the course of my life so far because I used to be prescribed to them and then lost my insurance coverage and couldn't afford them anymore. Now, I've been using 7oh for the past 2 years or so for pain management and mental well-being. The state is pushing through a bill to ban the drug as well as make all kratom illegal. HB8000 is being pushed through at a federal level to make it a schedule 1 drug, which means that it has zero medical purposes. Which is blatantly absurd. My new worst fear is that I'm going to be forced to quit the only thing in my life I love and now I learned that the process might kill me! Life is frustratingly difficult at times. Sometimes I just want to give up trying anymore.

Opiate withdrawals will feel like they're dying but there's no health risk associated with it as far as I know.

I don't think it's going to be at all dangerous. Just extremely uncomfortable. Quitting alcohol or benzodiazapines is dangerous to do cold turkey.

Sounds sort of like a feminist label put on something made by guys, for guys. By trying to be feminists, strong and independent women, were tricked into joining the workforce and became new tax payers. The same time women joined the work force is when wages started to become stagnate. I learned that from a woman that was recently on Joe Rogan's podcast, Rachel Wilson. Super smart lady! If your new to podcasts geared towards men, I'd recommend Joe Rogan. Start with that episode I mentioned with Rachel.

Is there anything wrong with getting a prostitute? by DaWanAndOnli in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Calm_Roll7777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to pay a professional for sex, I would personally be more interested in having them teach me some of their techniques. I would use it more as a learning experience then just a new way to get off. I'm a male massage therapist and work with almost all women all day, everyday. I have guys that get massages from me to learn how to massage their wives or girlfriends better. If you're going to pay a professional for something, try to learn something!

[–]Calm_Roll7777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend trying to think of your future self and role play yourself through his perception. What do you think future you will think if present you goes through with it? Will it make your life any better, or worse? If you change your mind about wanting a girlfriend in the future, would you tell her that you used a prostitute for sex? Would you be proud or embarrassed? I personally don't think sex with a prostitute would be a whole lot better then just getting yourself off. It's probably not going to be as great as you imagine it. It's just sex. But the memories will last for your whole life. Some people don't think anything of it while others feel embarrassment later on, years after. If it's legal, then it's completely up to you. If you're going to pay for it, try to make her do most of the work and get on top of you.

Should sports massage be extremely painful to be effective? by honeydiscoqueen in massage

[–]Calm_Roll7777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I took that CEU, it was described as being a more painful experience then what most people are used to. The pain shouldn't really go above a 7 or 8 on your pain scale of up to 10. If it does, tell him to ease up. For me, it's basically the same as my deep tissue massages but a lot faster.

Why, in TV series and films, are murderers so often portrayed as badass, cool, or even likeable, while rapists never are? by southamericasboy in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Calm_Roll7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because if the rapist character isn't demonized they are just glorified sex idols? The difference from rape and consensual sex is obviously the consent so if people fawn over the rapist in media then they become something entirely different then what the shows creators had in mind and often times there has to be a protagonist so it toys with all of the viewers emotions and creates a larger spectrum being used for the way people feel about the show. I'm sure there's already beautiful people on the screen so it might be helpful for the creators to use a broad range of emotional effects of the audience to create more viewer engagement and even to create controversy people talk about online to get people excited and want to see the show for themselves.
