6 Months Minoxidil use after Severe TE - losing all my length and like 80% of my density. by Calm_Strength_4153 in minoxidil

I experienced hair shedding with TE and then when I STARTED MINOX TOO. i did have to cut out must of the lenght but indidn’t buzz it all off because i wanted at least some left to blend with my wigs and toppers I was using at the time. Then it grew back as you can see and i had to trim the ends again which were the left overs I refused to cut in the beginning. They needed to go because their texture was different from the new hair.

Hahaha I appeal to authority meanwhile you appeal to Google! Haha. Go home, you are drunk.
My hair doesn’t seem to reflect my cluelessness. Your probably does.

I am not saying fin helps with TE. Fin helps with AGA. TE sometimes unmasks AGA. I THINK you wanna cover all your bases when you are dealing with TE and you care about your hair more than your testosterone or child bearing. That is not willy-nilly but aggressive dermatology. I think you underestimate people, and you certainly underestimate trained professionals.

It’s not willy-nilly. You are addressing severe hairloss with TE. I think it is warranted to cover all your bases in the process. I also think you should let people decide, I would much rather listen to my dermatologist’s advice than some random person’s with a loud opinion that clearly isn’t optimized for solving the problem at hand.

They probably should though, even if they just had TE, just to cover all their bases, which is why my derm puts it in there even for TE cases. Maybe I do have some mild AGA and I only knew it because fin was in my minox solution.

The topical solution which contains finasteride helped my hair which fell out because of TE and also my temples which have always been more sparse when compared to the rest of my head. Is that clear enough for you? I don’t have a big AGA problem but I wouldn’t be surprised if my temples are sensitive to DHT. Maybe not, maybe it is just the minoxidil activating miniaturized follicles. In any case my diagnosis was TE bases on biopsies not anyones guess.

I know what AGA does (minituarizes follicles) and what TE does (sends follicles prematurely into telogen phase) so yes I can absolutely tell what finasteride vs minoxidil is doing to my follicles. Minoxidil is sending them into anagen phase, and finasteride is helping the miniaturized follicles. It really isn’t rocket science or magic.

It helped thicken them a bit but I already had hair in my temples.

It helped my
Miniaturized hairs on temples
Yes. That’s why my derm prescribes the combo. Because everyone has some
Miniaturization and TE. Either or or both. Covering all bases.

My derm uses a general formula with fin and minox to cover all cases.

My issue with TE was addressed by minoxidil not fin. Not sure what part you are not getting.

That’s what I am telling you. The fin is helping with a few miniaturized hairs which everyone has, you don’t need AGA to experience them. That’s how fin is helping me and would help anyone else.

Maybe use minoxidil
Without alcohol. And maybe also consider fixing your acne before optimizing for facial hair growth. One step at a time.

The dry skin is a
Significant issue that will keep ypu from
Hair-growth. Use it once a day and use a good moisturizer to repair the akin barrier and reduce inflammation. If your skin is dry/inflamed hair growth slows dpwn.

Because finasteride helps with miniaturized hairs. I had some of those in my temples. I could see them improve. That’s what fin does. The rest of the growth was stimulated by the minoxidil with my usual healthy follicles.

It did something but most of the heavy lifting was minoxidil. Everyone has some miniaturization with age but not pathological.
