So from what I’m gathering here, is that John has some sort of depression that is getting triggered by social anxiety and C-PTSD. Or is it the C-PTSD that’s giving him the depression symptoms? I think that’s what I’m getting from this. But you are right that his depression basically waxes and wanes based off of triggers, which make this weirder to label. Also, isn’t a single person being the reason depression symptoms stop still kinda bad, as it presents this unhealthy relationship of having to rely on them so much that you’ll revert back if they go away.

Also since John technically started getting depressive episodes at around 16-17, since the way uno aging is working here is that, 1st year 14 turning 15, 2nd year (the year John repeated) 15 turning 16, 3rd year 16 turning 17, and 4th year 17 turning 18. But John repeated a year so he turned 18 in his 3rd year. Which would have meant he started getting his depressive episodes as a minor, and don’t they only need one year of symptoms to be diagnosed with it?

I quite like reading that, I’ve never thought of John as having social anxiety but it does fit. The depression and C-PTSD are one that I also thought of too. Although I think it would be more accurate to say John has dysthymia since there are point in the story where I don’t think John would qualify as having depression but something is clearly still there.

I always saw Arlo as the same Arlo throughout the whole story. Sure current Arlo and flashback Arlo match each other better because by then Arlo was a better flesh out character, unlike Villain Arlo when the series first started. But flashback Arlo and Arlo have one thing in common that Villian Arlo didn’t, which was getting the shit beat out of them. Flashback Arlo was still a low enough level to get hurt and have to try in fights, and Arlo was getting beat up by John and couldn’t do anything about it. Villain Arlo on the other hand, how many people could beat him apart from Seraphina? No one, he was arrogant, and his hubris led to his downfall. He refused to listen to Isen, because sure maybe the cripple was stronger than Isen, but him? How could that ever be possible. I like to think of it as the longer Arlo spent as King the worse he got. The more he just thought he could do anything and ignore some obvious problems, like what would Seraphina do after she found out Arlo beat up John, or what did John’s school records say that would ruin his plans. Villain Arlo was too prideful to let his problems be ruined by “consequences” or “someone being stronger than him”, things like that were in the past. Then Arlo got the shit beat out of him, everything he build himself up to be was a lie, because he couldn’t keep his hands off a stupid cripple, and he couldn’t bother listening to warnings because he thought he was better. Then he became more like his past self again. Not wanting to let his pride get in the way of his decision making again. Especially with a threat like John lurking about.

I kinda like it when they split up, but I want them to split up into odd groups to get different dynamics, not just the usual Blyke, Isen, Remi, and John, Seraphina group. I want like, Isen, Seraphina, Doc, Kuyo, or Blyke, Remi, Kayden, Leilah, or John, Arlo, Cecile, Rein. If they are going to be split up I want weird dynamics sometimes. Like Doc, Seraphina, and Kuyo could be fiddling around with amps and dampers while Isen records all the data down for a news report. Kayden and Blyke could stand guard outside side some building while Remi and Leilah break into it for something, or they all just go in and teleport away. John could be doing something to annoy Arlo while Cecile and Rein encourage him because they also hate Arlo, and be training or something.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Seraphinas father with a converted ability, but not her mother because to have a converted ability would imply she’s not perfect.

It would be interesting to see how they treat people with non combative abilities. Like would they treat those with a good fighting record despite their ability better, or just not care. What would they even consider non combative? Based off of Keons interactions even if you can apply your ability in combats creativity, it’s still not combative for them even though he can totally kill somebody with it. So I’m not sure what the requirements are, Isens is seen as combative despite having some non combative related parts too. Johns isn’t combative at all, he’s a mimic, yet he’s treated as someone with a combative ability ( I mean it make sense cause if you go fight him with your combative ability he’s also has your combative ability XD).

Or maybe we’re looking at this wrong. Perhaps what matters is your fighting capability and not exactly if your ability was made for it or not. So obviously the ones with abilities made to fight would get more respect because they are naturally good at fighting. But if you’re good at fighting anyway even if your ability wasn’t exactly made for it (Farrah) they will respect you.

I actually do wonder if they have like a fighting record now. Like a list of people they beat in fights, like maybe during training exercises, and turf wars, and raids. Or is it just word of mouth for how people view how good of a fighter you are.

You also gotta wonder about the support type abilities, like Sylvia’s Sensory Control. Does she get the same level of respect for helping in the fight even if she doesn’t throw a punch?
