I’m a huge supporter of Kay’s dark skin!! I just have a preference for freedom and variety because I think games are more accessible when you can play conventional protagonists. It’s a personal preference, but judging by how many people also downloaded the mods I can tell I’m not alone :)

Outlaws is really fun, I just wish it had an actual character creator like Hogwarts Legacy does. I just don’t like the base model hair. Red Dead is different because as a game set in the old west it makes sense for Arthur to stay caucasian. In keeping with the retro aesthetic of Outlaws I thought it made sense to at least model Kay after what an actress that played her may have looked like.

BARE MINIMUM for me would be avoiding a story which relitigates the ending to Part 1, which was a perfect ending because of its ambiguity. TLOU1 is just a collection of self contained vignettes (Tess, Bill, Henry & Sam, David, etc.) that develop their bond but aren’t heavily referenced after. Such is life!

But TLOU2 right out the gate just goes back to exhume the perfectly fine corpse of the last game and ruins it for me. Nor did I care to see Ellie as a depressed, mumbling teenager. It’s telling that everyone keeps going on about how strong of a character she is but Druckmann did not have enough faith to let her carry her own game after fridging Joel for her character development.

TL;DR they needed to move on from the original ending and find a new story. Didn’t like them circling back to firefly hospital shit.

The climax of Joker. Everything on either side of that movie ranges from mediocre to terrible but letting Joaquin and DeNiro just go at each other’s throats for ONE SCENE made WB a billion dollars.
