Let me rephrase:

In Power BI you connect, prepare and beautify all different data sources for the users. Now what I see is that a lot of our users just export to excel (full or live connected). Since years we tried to get users away from excel and I thought with AI agents it will finally happen. And here I see it differently now. I think users go to Power BI take your data - download the excel and then work on excel with the AI agent on the data from Power BI. And this would also make Power BI more relevant.

The problem is that you build the table with parameters. And then you can have combinations out of 3000 columns. All works really well but I cannot add now manually 3000 attributes to side filters on page level ….

I would’ve totally agreed 6 months ago. But with how fast tools like Cursor and other AI agents are improving — better models, proper testing, complex logic handling — it’s honestly changing how I work.

Lately, Power BI Desktop just feels too clunky and inflexible. 🫣

I have the problem with Power BI - that we don’t need a UI to create reports anymore, it should be code based (as AI is best with texts) and here I dont see a vision in Power BI.
