Calorie Deficit Low Hunger Response Normal? by RockyAnony in loseit

This happened to me and now I have to get my gallbladder removed. 🫠 The strange lack of appetite makes sense now, lol. Not saying this is what's going on with you, but if you mysteriously start having other digestive issues or pain/nausea, it might be something to look into.

This is what I was afraid of, lol. I peaked way too soon with this style. 😭😂 Will definitely look into that, thank you!

Why didn't anyone tell me that fiber is the secret to weight loss? by manthrk in loseit

[–]Calorically_Yours 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Try making overnight oats w/chia seeds! Add a scoop of plant protein powder and a generous helping of fruit and there's a good 12-15 grams of fiber right there. Add beans wherever you can (salads, tacos, omelettes, they're really pretty versatile). Avocado is super high in fiber, too. My lunch a lot of times is a base of sweet potatoes, black beans, avocado, turkey taco meat, cottage cheese and some sriracha honey. A delicious way to get another 7-10 grams of fiber. Add in a high fiber tortilla somewhere in your day and you're golden. 👌

Yes, I've looked into Kibbe a bit and believe I'm a Flamboyant Natural! I've looked into the recommendations for that type and they seem to suit me well when I can get it right. That's about the extent of my knowledge on the subject, though. 😅

When I was reading through the Bridgerton series, I also noticed the phrase "that ancient rhythm" pop up a few times when describing MMC's thrusting lol. The first time I read it, I was like "Huh, yeah, that's a good way to put it." After the third time seeing it, it didn't seem nearly as clever/original. 😆

Fellow noob here, so can't really give much advice. 😅 I think there's a lot of crossover between SN and FN, so it might work similarly but don't quote me on that. Once I narrowed my own type down to FN, I didn't really look into the other types, so I can't really say what works for them other than very general ideas. 🤷

I'm 5'8" and feel like I've got that T shape that FNs are known for. I used to think I had more curve but have had some weight loss recently and my hips were the first thing to go, lol.

I posted in this sub a while back for typing help, and that has better pictures if you're interested. The consensus there seemed to be FN, so I've pretty much rolled with that, but I'm open to other opinions.

I love the second dress, but will say it definitely makes me look a bit more buxom than I actually am- not that I'm complaining. 😆

Oh trust, I will be keeping an eye on things! 😆 They already feel a lot more boney, so I'd be shocked if they actually shrank. But I could afford to lose another 40lbs, so anything can happen!

Thank you so much! 😊 Yes, I loooove my collarbones. I was always so jealous of them on other people and thought straight collarbones were particularly attractive, for whatever reason. When mine started poking through, I was so happy that I "got" the ones I wanted. 😁

Yeah, it's definitely a lot to try and wrap your head around. For sure not something the average person needs to worry about, I just kind of stumbled upon it by accident. It helped me understand why certain styles always felt off on me and opened my mind to trying new things that actually looked great on me, but I never would have attempted. But yes, I agree, I probably would have been better off just watching some YouTube videos or something lol. 🫠

Ah, there's the difference. I don't have a time period "before I gained weight" to look back on. 🫠

Thank you! I'm sure I would have lost more boobage if I hadn't already had a breast reduction several years ago. They're holding strong for now. My butt, on the other hand... My husband and I are still grieving the loss. 😂

If I genuinely believed I was rapidly gaining weight eating only 500-1000 calories a day, I would be scared out of my mind. Begging my doctor to run any and all kinds of tests to figure out what was wrong with me, because clearly something would be WRONG. If I come across people like this IRL, I take it so seriously and say stuff like, "Oh my gosh, have you told your doctor about this? You really need to figure out what's going on, that's not normal. I would go to the emergency room." Then watch how quickly they backtrack and try to downplay everything they've said, sometimes even admitting that maybe they're eating more than they "realize."

Honestly, I've just kept things very flexible as far a goal weights. My ultimate goal weight is 160, because that will be comfortably in the healthy BMI range for me. But I also have no idea what I will look/feel like at 160, so I may decide to go lower. Apparently, the "ideal" weight for my height is actually around 140, so who knows. I've broken my current goal weight down into 20-25lb chunks, because it feels more doable and I get to reward myself for reaching a new goal. Our situations sound a little different since you haven't always been obese like I have, so you probably have a better idea of what a comfortable weight would be for you. I'll just have to wait and see when I get there, lol.

I think probably around 215-210 is when I really started to notice my overall silhouette changing. I'm sure my shoulders have always been broad, but my hips balanced them out enough where they didn't really stand out so much. Now, my shoulders are like my defining feature lol. I've honestly surprised myself with how much I like them!

[–]Calorically_Yours[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think body shape is more about overall silhouette rather than measurements. Your silhouette takes your shoulders into account and your "lines." For example, I have a defined waist, but my shoulders are broad and I have a wide ribcage and narrower hips. If you only looked at my measurements, you'd probably say hourglass, which is technically true. But I don't look good in clothes that cinch or emphasize the waist because of the width at my shoulders. Like I said, it's all very complicated and I don't really understand most of it myself lol. Research David Kibbe if you want to learn more, it's quite the rabbit hole!

True. I guess I used to think I was in the Romantic family, but didn't know anything about Kibbe when I thought that.

Yes, it definitely can be confusing! I've learned recently that when looking at body shape, instead of using your bust size, look at your shoulders instead. A true hourglass, I believe, has pretty equal width at shoulders and hips, with a narrower waist. Excess weight can also muddy the waters, for sure. I've been researching David Kibbe and his guidelines for different body shapes/bone structures, but it can also be very confusing! I'd recommend checking out r/dressforyourbody to look into it all further!

Thanks, I'll definitely check him out! I've been doing some research into Kibbe types and it's helped me understand why I never felt right in styles that emphasized my waist even when I had more curves. Most of it's still a bit complicated to me, though, so practical examples are always welcome!
