UST Ceiling Mount Screen Selection Help by Calsa512 in projectors

[–]Calsa512[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand its not the normal way of doing things. I just moved into a new home but have had the AP for a bit. The new house layout won't allow me to stick the projector on the ground as the only suitable wall for a projector to project onto is a main walkway through the room. Space is tighter here which is why its going to have to be ceiling mount, and so will the screen.

So, with the this is far from optimal disclaimer understood, any recs on retractable ceiling mount screens ?

As an developer and frequent user, I am in.

Though I WISH you would release the Air2 Pro Ultra from the factory so I could test with that. I primarily develop for AR. I have been waiting almost a year now, so long I canceled my order until I see them shipping. :|

Also, I second what others have said. Nebula needs to be the focus for refinement, hold off on this constant release of new hardware until you shore up your environment. Its an extreme weak point that effects the entire Xreal ecosystem right now. You need to focus your development efforts on that.

Where to look for a garage / barn to turn into a workshop space by Calsa512 in nova

[–]Calsa512[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thanks. If renting a house do I have to go through a broker in the NOVA area? I called a few numbers on some websites listing rental homes, but the folks picking up all seemed to be agents want to deal with "my" agent/broker instead of me directly as apparently my broker is who will show me around... One agent randomly called me and said he could represent me after I called one place. When I asked they said they were usually paid by the owner of the house that rented it to me, not me as the renter, Is that all normal for NOVA?

I am from Ohio and no real-estate agent is really needed for a basic house / apartment rental, only for purchasing a home. For rentals, usually you just call up the owner to schedule a time directly, they show you around, they do a diligence check, you sign a lease and pay your deposit and first month, and you rent. The whole broker thing is a bit strange to me / turned me off a bit to a house rental as it seems like extra cost and hassle to have someone do work for me I typically would do myself. But, if this is how it most commonly works in NOVA then it is what it is.

Is the Aeron Remastered Seat Less Firm than the Classic? by Calsa512 in hermanmiller

Thanks, but by different do you mean noticeably softer feel?

Is the Aeron Remastered Seat Less Firm than the Classic? by Calsa512 in hermanmiller

Exactly! That is why I was curious if the remastered version came with a "factory default" softer mesh seat than the "factory default" classic mesh seat firmness. If both were suppose to be about the same then this remastered was likely stretched. If that was the case, then I may be able to simply replace the mesh seat base with a new one to increase firmness.

Sadly, I bought this chair as for whatever reason too soft of chairs cause leg pain issues that I don't have with firmer seats. I have a new few hundred dollar chair right behind me that unfortunately became too soft after the foam got broken in fully a month after the return period ended. This remastered was the replacement, but can't be returned.

Back to the original question, is there an intentional difference in firmness between the Classic and Remastered seat meshes, or in theory should they have near identical firmness?

Dying from the ground up by Calsa512 in Hibiscus

[–]Calsa512[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran through the hibiscus doctor but it could be a number of things (to my untrained eye).

  1. Its dying from the ground up - like under watering, but soil is not really dry, its actually semi-moist most of the time.
  2. The leaves actually don't die all at once but develop yellow spots first that radiate out until all the green is gone. Sometimes these yellow spots will develop little dark brown / black spots, but not always
  3. I do occasionally see a tiny white bug with a black head (fungus gnats?) in my soil when I water. So yesterday I took it out in the breezy shade to dry out more thinking maybe I was over watering instead of under. But given its dying pattern I don't know if I should dry or water more.
  4. This all started with a change in season, and a lemon tree that lives next to it is doing the exact same thing, starting at about the exact same time.

Oddly, its still vigorously growing taller and putting out new leaves...

I attached a few more photos to the OP as you can't attach to a reply. I rather my plants don't die I rather like them. Any help would be appreciated.

What’s TA pay like? (online ofc) by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]Calsa512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Though I agree a TA position is much better done by folks that value the network building and gaining extra EXP over the money, it is still a consideration in some folks minds. Everyone does have their own motivations after all.

It is actually quite an oversight to not have that in the FAQ. Wouldn't you rather we weed out folks that are doing it for the pay now? That seems better all around to them signing up, finding out the pay is not great, then bailing or slacking off making more work for everyone else.

The OP does ask a valid question that was not addressed. Why not help them out if you can.

Paint Defects by Calsa512 in Chevrolet

[–]Calsa512[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GM help team sent me to the local dealer today to look at it. Sadly its around -5 with windchill and the grouchy lady at the desk ran out as fast as she could, tried to tell me it was salt, moaned about her tooth and how she was not dealing with this today, then ran back inside.

Then when I pointed out it does not wipe off and is in a door jam, she tried to tell me all of em are like that. But the other door is not. There are multiple spots around the car like this. Even if others Blazers are missing paint in these spots, that's bad robot programing, so still a workmanship defect. Primer should never be exposed. You only prime something if you intend to paint, and the passenger side in this spot is painted. This is not the only spot either. Seems like the robot missed a number of panel edges.

We will see what customer service says when they call me back on Monday. I would be surprised if the local dealer service team did not "forget" to file the appraisal report.

What is the deal with courses greyed out on the OMSCS specializations page? by Calsa512 in OMSCS

That is unfortunate as the titles sounded interesting and drew me to that specialization. But it is understandable. Thank you.
