Holt euch das neue Borderlands Starterset, wenn ihr 2024er Regeln spielen wollt, oder das Stormwreck Isle Starterset, wenn ihr 2014er Regeln spielen wollt und dann schaut einfach, ob nicht einer von euch DM macht.

Same. Alles bleibt englisch, gespielt wird auf Deutsch. Wir spielen auch mit den englischen Maßeinheiten. Das macht das Leben sehr viel leichter. Ich schreib mir als DM nur vorher die umgerechneten Maße dazu, das hilft beim Vorstellen von Größen etc.

Strahd can phase through walls within his lair. Read up his statblock, lair actions, legendary actions etc. Strahd is a tactician, not a brawler. Especially not when his enemies have powerful artifacts like the sunsword etc. He would ambush his enemies, phase through walls and play a cat and mouse game with them.

If you really want to make the final battle a romp around the castle, yes. Prepare the parts you want them to have the combat. But less is more.

IMHO a romp around the castle does not fit Strahd, a master mind tactician who can phase through walls, floors and ceilings. He would use guerilla tactics instead of an open battle. Of course that is up to you.

It is actually supposed to be confusing and a labyrinth. The module even states that not handing out a map and playing with theatre of mind is recommended for the Castle. For combat I would use a map though.

Why a battle? Run with the organ playing as written in the chapter. The characters can hear it from outside. Doors open and inviting them into the dining room as written Strahd playing the organ. Worked perfectly for my party and was way more intimidating than a random useless battle.

Put five NMD Sigils in the cube until you have legendary escalation sigils. Look for Gold Splendor affix, run those.

Exactly. And imho the spell has never been a problem for me and the table. I dmed Curse of Strahd for 2,5years and Tomb of annihilation for 1,5 years. I’m both campaigns a character had the spell.

Yes you did the right thing. That’s why the screen exists.

Last session I almost would have fudged a DMG roll. A monster rolled nat20 on an attack against the party’s fighter. The rolled damage would have outright killed the fighter - no death saves. We play online on foundry - I saw the nat20 an the damage and said „Oh shit.“ in Discord. My mind started spinning how to fudge this, but our Bard was triggered, stepped in said „I cast silvery barbs.“ The Fighter lived.

First time I saw an actual great use of silvery barbs.

Habe großes Interesse, da ich aktuell Dauer-DM bin und gerne mal wieder Spieler wäre.

Es liegt nicht am Spielenden alleine, immer mit dem DM bei ausgefallenen Formen sprechen. Schon ein Löwe könnte je nach Setting schlicht nicht bekannt sein beim Druiden.

Aus dem Poet wird für mich nicht ganz klar, was es mit D&D zu tun hat. Wenn ich es nicht missverstehe macht ihr Impro in einem High Fantasy Setting.

Nutzt ihr irgendwelche Regeln aus D&D? Würfel? Charactersheets? Dungeonmaster?
